Ireland's batsmen will go into Friday's first group match against Namibia without having faced a ball in the warm-ups after today's match against Oman was abandoned at the half-way stage.

With yesterday's game against the UAE not even starting, it means that Ireland have had only twenty overs of cricket across the two days of pre-tournament fixtures, none of which were faced by their batsmen.

Inside edge to Wilson

This match against Oman, however, provided a very useful run-out in the field. There were three wickets for Alex Cusack and George Dockrell and two in an over for John Mooney as Oman were bowled out for 91 with more than an over left unused.

Even if Zeeshan Maqsood played a couple of nice shots from the opening berth and even if Vaibhav Wategaonkar made 26, the Omani batting asked few questions of the Irish bowlers.

All the same, the home side can be pleased with its efforts. Both Cusack and Tyrone Kane struck early, Mooney and Thompson got through three overs at first and second change, and Dockrell returned the figures of the day, picking up 3 for 15 from his four overs. Kevin O'Brien also got a couple of overs under his belt, taking 1 for 8.
