3rd ODI: South Africa beat Ireland by 6 wickets.
Wanderers, Johannesburg, 19 December.
Ireland 205 (45.2 overs; G Lewis 64, C Coulter-Reilly 37, L Paul 30, O Prendergast 21; N Mlaba 4-33, T Sekhukhune 2-27, S Luus 2-45)
South Africa 206-4 (32.2 overs; L Wolvaardt 100*, T Brits 26, S Luus 25; A Kelly 2-34, A Maguire 2-51)
To the victors the spoils (CSA)
Ireland have won the toss and elected to bat. Sarah Forbes and Gaby Lewis in the middle. No Amy Hunter today, officially suffering from the ubiquitous 'niggle', so Christina Coulter-Reilly will take the gloves. Forbes gone, brilliantly caught at short cover by Wolvaardt. Stunning! Lewis and CCR going well and looking fluent having added 55 and counting to reach 76-1 at drinks. 50 for Lewis in 55 balls (7 fours, 1 six) - her 15th ODI half century. Partnership approaching 100 as they reach 117-1 at the halfway point. CCR benefitting from a few reprieves but her luck runs out as she's stumped on 37 and stand ended on 99, quickly followed by Lewis as one brings two...and three as Delany hangs the bat and is caught at slip, two in the over for Nonkululeko Mlaba. Prendergast looking assured but falls for just 21 and with her goes Ireland’s hopes of topping 250 today. Paul and Kelly out in the space of two deliveries and then Jane Maguire out first ball - STUMPED!! Sister Aimee follows 5 balls later - All out - 9 balls, 4 wickets, 6 runs. Hard to explain, much less excuse some of what we've just seen there. Wolvaardt and Brits off at the gallop in the chase boundaries flowing and fifty up before Brits edges behind, extra bounce there for Arlene Kelly. Karabo Meso, who spent 2024 at school and playing at Holywood comes to the crease. Fifty for Wolvaardt and South Africa halfway to their target in side 15 overs. Meso charges Aimee Maguire and is stumped, but overall the Irish attack looks toothless - 'samey'. No respite as Suné Luus joins her captain and they match each other shot for shot. South Africa trying to finish this quickly and lose Luus and van Niekerk in quick succession. But the game has long been decided and interest shifts to whether or not Wolvaardt can get to her century - she needs 21 out of 25 runs required, Tunnicliffe giving her every chance as does an Irish misfield that goes for a boundary and in the end it's a single and the winning run that takes her to a well deserved century. The end of a tour that did little to add to what was already known about this Irish side. Fuller review and analysis to follow elsewhere on the site so for now enjoy Christmas and like the post-match soundbite says, 'We go again' in the New Year.
2nd ODI: South Africa beat Ireland by 74 runs.
Gqeberha, 16 December.
South Africa 375-6 (50 overs; L Wolvaardt 124, S Luus 114, D van Niekerk 88; J Maguire 3-75, A Maguire 2-69)
Ireland 301 (47.5 overs; O Prendergast 97, A Hunter 64, G Lewis 45, L Paul 36, A Kelly 20; L Jones 3-48, M Smit 2-40, N Shangase 2-52)
Out of the footmarks and through the gate from Aimee Maguire (CSA)
The Proteas have taken Ireland on a nationwide tour, six different venues for the six scheduled games. It has been a case of them showcasing their talents to their fans around the country, and big crowds have turned out to watch. Today it’s the turn of the ‘Friendly City’ and St.Georges Park, famous for the brass band that's already in action. A must-win game for the Girls in Green if they are to prolong the series to the final day-nighter in Johannesburg at the Wanderers on Friday. First blood to Jane Maguire with Tamzin Brits given lbw - looked to be missing leg stump, certainly Amy was over there, but no review and that's good news for the Girls in Green. Wolvaardt looking in ominous form already. Aimee Maguire pitches one in the footmarks and bowls a flabbergasted Goodall. Laura Wolvaardt passes 50 and 1000 ODI runs for 2025. She and Luus have added 100 and counting. Only chance was a run out by Lewis but her throw just missed. Cara Murray, playing her 100th game, has bowled the odd good ball but too many loose ones. Hosts on course for well in excess of 300. 12th ODI hundred for Wolvaardt. Some easy runs on offer, Irish bowling been poor. Aimee Maguire ends the stand at 179 as Wolvaardt is well caught by Stokell above her head at long off. Welcome relief. Or not, as Van Niekerk has hit the ground running and could well become the third centurion of the innings if she gets the strike in the last few overs. Can't get there but that's a record total for SA. Irish bowling dreadful and fielding worse. Truly horrific display as they disintegrated. 119 runs in the last 10 overs. Chase begins badly as Forbes goes in first over but Lewis and Hunter rebuild. Their stand is worth 77 before Lewis pulls a long hop to midwicket. Hunter and Prendergast going well but the required rate continues to climb. The pair make even time 50s but rain is threatening. Record stand of 93 ended as Hunter misses straight one and Delany is the victim of an awful umpiring decision. Leah Paul with a flurry of boundaries as Ireland keep battling as she and Prendergast keep believing. They couldn't, could they? SA drop two catches and Ireland keep swinging. Paul well caught and 125 needed off the last 10 overs. Despair for Prendergast as she's caught in the deep. Deserved a hundred. Stokell goes cheaply. End is nigh. Ireland pass 300 in a great batting effort but in vain. Damage was done earlier. Third and final ODI is on Friday.
1st ODI: South Africa beat Ireland by 7 wickets.
East London, 13 December.
Ireland 209-7 (47 overs; S Forbes 42, R Stokell 39*, A Hunter 32, O Prendergast 28, L Delany 21; N Mlaba 3-43, T Sekukhune 2-32)
South Africa 211-3 (36.5 overs; S Luus 66*, M Smit 56*, L Wolvaardt 31, T Brits 27, L Goodall 20; C Murray 2-34) (Delayed start - Match reduced to 47 overs)
Lewis leaves the gate open and is bowled (CSA)
After a 90 minute delay due to a damp pitch Gaby Lewis won the Toss and opted to bat first. Ireland up against it again today, relying on the usual suspects at the top of the order to score the runs, so if an upset was to occur it would likely have to come from the bowling unit, although they found wickets hard to come by in the T20s. Starts for everyone in Ireland's innings that saw Sarah Forbes opening with Gaby Lewis and top scoring with 42. Valuable late runs from Rebecca Stokell taking the total past 200. Ireland's 50 over plan has traditionally seen them preserve wickets early on to give themselves a chance of runs later, to post around 220, or 240 on a good day, so their 209 always looked vulnerable against the hosts strong batting line up. So it proved, as South Africa romped home with 10 overs to spare, Suné Luus leading the way in a 125 run partnership with Miané Smit whose 56* was her best ODI score to date. Next match in the series is on Tuesday in Gqeberha, which for those whose language skills do not include Xhosa 'clicks', is perhaps best called Port Elizabeth.
3rd T20I: South Africa v Ireland - no result.
Benoni, 10 December.
South Africa
Ireland
Match abandoned - the safest of bets (CSA)
Another change of venue for the final match of the T20 series under the lights at Willowmoore Park. Over five thousand feet up on the Highveld evening thunderstorms are not uncommon and there were a few false starts with players warming up only for them to be ordered off the ground again due to the threat of lightning. The storm finally broke and with the ground totally awash the match was called off 90 minutes after the scheduled start. The T20 series finishes 2-0 to the hosts and we move on to East London on Saturday for the first of 3 ODIs - 8.am start in Ireland.
2nd T20I: South Africa beat Ireland by 65 runs.
Paarl, 7 December.
South Africa 201-5 (20 overs; F Tunnicliffe 51, D van Niekerk 41, S Luus 37, L Wolvaardt 22; A Maguire 3-43)
Ireland 136-3 (20 overs; O Prendergast 51*, L Paul 40; C Tyron 2-24)
The end of Amy Hunter (CSA)
Four changes in the Irish lineup today as out go: Coulter-Reilly, Little, McBride and Jane Maguire and in come: Stokell, Kelly, Dalzell and Murray. Just one change for the Proteas with Ayabonga Khaka replacing Masabata Klass. An opening partnership of 78 by Suné Luus and Faye Tunnicliffe, who posts a maiden half-century delays the entrance of Laura Wolvaardt. But she becomes one of Aimee Maguire’s three victims, before late runs from Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tyron carry the hosts past 200. Another sloppy display in the field from Ireland with a couple of simple catches dropped. Thirty three in the Powerplay by Lewis and Hunter, before Lewis is lbw sweeping and Hunter bowled, both in Tyron's next over. Ireland 57/2 after 10 overs making a win Mission Impossible. Orla Prendergast and Leah Paul provide some entertainment adding 50 knocking it around, and then swing away going into the last five overs. Their partnership is worth 76 before Paul exposes her leg stump sweeping and is bowled. Prendergast survives a simple stumping chance in the penultimate over, and goes on to complete her half century in the last (39 balls, 4x4, 1x6). Something to cheer for the Girls in Green today, but hard to see a change of fortune for them in Wednesday's final game of the series.
1st T20I: South Africa beat Ireland by 105 runs
Capetown, 5 December.
South Africa 220-2 (20 overs; L Wolvaardt 115*, S Luus 81, D van Niekerk 21*; A Canning 1-33, J Maguire 1-52)
Ireland 115 (18 overs; L Paul 34, G Lewis 30; S Luus 4-22, N Mlaba 2-10, C Tryon 2-14)
Proteas skipper with an unbeaten 115 that matches Ireland's total (CSA)
The hosts were beaten finalists in both the T20 and ODI World Cups so a massive challenge ahead for the Girls in Green. Jane Maguire with an early wicket but Laura Wolvaardt looks in ominous form for the hosts as 63 runs come from the six overs of the powerplay. SA record half century for Wolvaardt who takes just 24 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes) as the runs keep flowing despite best efforts of Aimee Maguire. SA reach 104-1 at the halfway point with a hundred partnership between Wolvaardt and Sune Luus. Carnage continues as Luus reaches 50 and Wolvaardt approaches her century as the hosts target a total of 200 plus. Relief as Ava Canning bowls Luus for 81 - stand of 176 is a South African record. Wolvaardt reaches her second T20I hundred from 52 balls. Been a great innings. SA finish on a record total of 220 for 2, helped by a truly abject fielding display and a very poor bowling one. Disastrous start to the chase with both Hunter and Prendergast gone in the first over, followed by a maiden, Finally some cheer for the Irish as Gaby Lewis is up and running with a flurry of boundaries. Lewis goes for 30 sweeping a poor ball straight to fine leg. Leah Paul enjoying herself with some improvisation as they reach 64-3 at the midway point. Game long over as a contest - all about respectability and the margin of defeat. Paul gone for a well made 34 quickly followed by Coulter-Reilly, Laura Delany and Ava Canning - four wickets for Luus. Louise Little thumps a few but picks out mid-off. Mlaba brings the game to a conclusion bowling Jane Maguire and Lara McBride in quick succession to seal the comprehensive win. The teams meet again on Sunday in the second T20I.
Women's T20 World Cup Euro Qualifier, Ireland beat Italy by 33 runs.
Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, 27 August.
Ireland 175-6 (20 overs; L Delany 91, A Hunter 62; I Sims 2-22, E Bartram 2-23)
Italy 142 (18.3 overs; A Wikman 53, C Piparo 36; F Sargent 3-38, A Dalzell 2-18, L McBride 2-23)
Unbeaten Ireland top the table (ICC)
With Gaby Lewis and Orla Prendergast not in today's XI, Ireland's place in the Global Qualifier already secured, Laura Delany batting at number three cashed in with a 57 ball 91, stumped in the final over as she sought to make three figures. She and Amy Hunter added 139 for the second wicket which only fell in the eighteenth over. With Ireland's attack lacking the cutting edge of Prendergast Annie Wikman and Chloe Piparo took advantage to plunder early runs bringing up the 50 in 7 overs with Ireland being made to look very ordinary. The second wicket fell at 91 in the twelfth over and with scoreboard pressure mounting the likelihood was that more would follow. That was indeed the case with Delany’s late surge in Ireland’s innings proving decisive. Italy’s innings ended with the fall of their ninth wicket, Emma Moore unable to bat.
Women's T20 World Cup Euro Qualifier, Netherlands lost to Ireland by 7 wickets.
Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, 26 August.
Netherlands 110 (18.5 overs; R Rijke 25, B De Leede 23; A Kelly 5-14, L Paul 2-11)
Ireland 111-3 (19.1 overs; G Lewis 56, O Prendergast 49; H Landheer 2-17)
A five wicket haul for Arlene Kelly today. (ICC.tv)
Ireland stay unbeaten with what on the face of it was a comfortable 7 wicket win. However the game went into the final over as they chased down the modest target set by the hosts. An Arlene Kelly ‘five-for’ the highlight of Ireland’s performance in the field as the final eight wickets fell for only 39 runs. Christina Coulter Reilly again took over Amy Hunter’s duties both with the gloves and as Lewis’ opening partner. She was bowled playing across the line for just two but Orla Prendergast and Gaby Lewis added 89 and the second wicket fell with just 10 required when Prendergast edged behind just missing out on a deserved half-century. The scores were tied when Lewis tried to pierce the ring of fielders driving a catch to extra cover. Unlikely as it had looked we are going into the last over! Amy Hunter hits to extra and takes off for the riskiest of singles - the throw that would have seen her run out by yards misses and Ireland win with just five balls to spare.
Women's T20 World Cup Euro Qualifier, Ireland beat Germany by 179 runs.
Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, 24 August.
Ireland 223-1 (20 overs; A Hunter 114*, L Paul 62*, C Coulter Reilly 21)
Germany 44-8 (20 overs; L Paul 2-4, L Delany 2-15)
Amy Hunter celebrates her century (ICC media)
Ireland took advantage of their win at the Toss to get in some batting practice with Gaby Lewis dropping down the order and Christina Coulter Reilly taking over her opening spot and Amy Hunter’s wicket keeping duties. A 67 ball century for Amy and an unbeaten half century from Leah Paul in Ireland’s total. Germany’s reply mustered even less than they managed against the Netherlands yesterday with no one managing to reach double figures and extras top scoring with 12. Two wickets each for Leah Paul and Laura Delany in this predictably one-sided encounter.
Women's T20 World Cup Euro Qualifier, Ireland beat Italy by 63 runs.
Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, 23 August.
Ireland 166-4 (20 overs; G Lewis 42, R Stokell 38*, L Delany 28*, O Prendergast 23; I Sims 2-26)
Italy 103-7 (20 overs; C Piparo 29, C Wikman 29; A Kelly 3-7)
Arlene Kelly congratulated by skipper Gaby Lewis (ICC media)
Ireland were asked to bat and they did just that. Runs shared among the usual suspects with only four wickets falling in a solid batting performance. Ilenia Sims the most successful of the Azzurre claiming the wickets of Gaby Lewis and Leah Paul. No real prospect of a successful chase for Italy after the early loss of Elilia Bartram and Ilenia Sims. A double strike in her opening over from Arlene Kelly and a third in her third over sealed the Italians fate.
Women's T20 World Cup Euro Qualifier, Netherlands lost to Ireland by 8 wickets.
Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam, 21 August.
Netherlands 137-6 (20 overs; P Molkenboer 27, H Siegers 27, F Overdijk 25; L Delany 2-19)
Ireland 141-2 (19.2 overs; G Lewis 66*, O Prendergast 28, A Hunter 21)
Gaby Lewis led Ireland to a last-over win against The Netherlands (ICC)
Hosts Netherlands set Ireland a testing total after opting to bat first with the Girls in Green needing the big guns to fire in the chase and they made an explosive start with long-hops and half-volleys dispatched to all parts. The opening partnership of 65 off 46 broken when Amy Hunter dragged a bottom edge onto her stumps. Lewis powered on to a half century off 36 with Orla Prendergast up and running at better than a run-a-ball. Prendergast edged behind with just 24 needed and Leah Paul joined Lewis. Down to 13 required off 2 overs when a run out was missed and it cost an overthrow into the bargain - Luck of the Irish? A misfield costs the hosts another chance of a run out before a Lewis boundary eases the pressure. Ireland looked a bit frantic there for an over or so but a win's a win in a game that was closer that the final margin suggests.

3rd T20I: Ireland lost to Pakistan by 8 wickets.
Clontarf, 10 August.
Ireland 155-4 (20 overs; O Prendergast 64*, G Lewis 36, A Hunter 29)
Pakistan 156-2 (17.4 overs; Muneeba Ali 100*, Aliya Riaz 39*)
Orla Prendergast again top-scored on her way to Player of the Series (Deryck Vincent)
Ireland failed to make it 10 wins in a row as Pakistan ended the T20I series on a high with an eight wickets victory at Clontarf. The visitors chased down their target of 156 with 14 balls to spare thanks an undefeated century by wicket-keeper and opening batter Muneeb Ali. She was helped by three dropped catches, all after reaching her 50 as Ireland’s fielding let them down for the first time in the series. Muneeb brought up her 100 with the winning run, from 68 balls with 14 fours and a six in an unbroken stand of 101 with Aliya Riaz who scored 39. Ava Canning and Lara McBride were the Ireland wicket-takers with Prendergast the unluckiest of the other bowlers, on the receiving end of two of the dropped catches. Prendergast was Ireland's top scorer in their 155 for four, finishing 64 not out from 46 balls with eight boundaries, a total matched by skipper Gaby Lewis, playing her 100th T20I, in her innings of just 36. That allowed Ireland to score 52 in the powerplay, however from 79 for one at halfway, Ireland could not even double their score and that, in the end, proved fatal, although they do win their second successive series against Pakistan 2-1.
2nd T20I: Ireland beat v Pakistan by 4 wickets.
Castle Avenue, 8 August.
Pakistan 168-6 (20 overs: S Zulfiqar 33, Natalia Parvaiz 31, Muneeba Ali 27, Eyman Fatima 23, Fatima Sana 23; L McBride 2-27, C Murray 2-33)
Ireland 171-6 (20 overs: O Prendergast 51, L Delany 42, R Stokell 34*, G Lewis 21; Rameen Shamim 3-36)
Jane Maguire who hit the last ball for six (Sportsfile/Cricket Ireland)
Jane Maguire hit the last ball of the match for six to give Ireland their ninth successive victory – for the first time ever - and a series victory against Pakistan with one game to play. It was the first ball that Maguire had faced having come to wicket when Ava Canning was stumped of the penultimate delivery with four runs required for victory. Player of the match went to Rebecca Stokell who had led the late charge with 34 off 16 balls (five fours) in a fifth wicket partnership of 49 with Laura Delany whose 42 came off 34 balls. Stokell’s late heroics pipped Orla Prendergast to the individual award as Ireland’s star all-rounder followed up her economical figures of one for 22 with 51 from 34 (four fours and two sixes). With five overs to go, Pakistan were 131 for three but Ireland restricted them to 168 for six with wickets for Cara Murray and Prendergast. The final game of the series is back at Clontarf on Sunday.
3rd T20I: Ireland beat Pakistan by 11 runs.
Castle Avenue, 6 August.
Ireland 142 (19.4 overs; A Hunter 37, O Prendergast 29, L Paul 28; Fatima Sana 4-20)
Pakistan 131-9 (20 overs; Natalia Pervaiz 29, Rameen Shamim 27; O Prendergast 3-28, J Maguire 2-20)
Boundary for Orla Prendergast (Deryck Vincent)
Ireland made it eight T20I's wins on the bounce with a fully deserved 11 run win against a rusty Pakistan side who hadn't played in the format for over a year. Amy Hunter top-scored with 37, while there were runs too for Orla Prendergast (29) and Leah Paul (28) in a total of 142 - four wickets for Fatima Sana. The chase stalled as they slumped to 54 for 5 in the 12th over - strangled by a four-over spell of 1-9 by Ava Canning. They threatened briefly through Natalia Pervaiz (29) and Rameen Shamim (27) but left themselves too much to do. Prendergast's three wickets saw her get the Player of the Match award, while Jane Maguire took 2-20 in an 11-run win. The teams meet again on Friday when Ireland will look to wrap up the series.

Gaby Lewis (Sportsfile)
Gaby Lewis made it back-to-back half centuries and Player-of-the-Match awards as Ireland took an unassailable 2-0 series lead against a poor Zimbabwe team at Sydney Parade. The skipper shared a second wicket stand of 131 with Orla Prendergast, who made 52 on her home ground. The chase never got going as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 111 - three wickets again for Cara Murray, while Leah Paul and Orla Prendergast took two each in a convincing 65-run win.

Ireland Women celebrate a wicket (Sportsfile)
Three wickets for Cara Murray and two for Arlene Kelly restricted Zimbabwe to 117 for 9 in the opening T20I at Pembroke. Ireland struggled initially in the chase to reach 54 for 2 at the halfway stage. Skipper Gaby Lewis then switched gears, hitting 67 as her side took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series winning by six wickets in the 17th over.
Women's World Cup Qualifier, Ireland beat Scotland by 1 wicket
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, 18 April.
Scotland 268/7 (50 overs; K Bryce 131*, K Fraser 33, A Lister 27, P Chatterji 26; A Canning 3-48, C Murray 2-48)
Ireland 269/9 (50 overs: G Lewis 61, L Delany 57*, S Forbes 55, O Prendergast 33, J Maguire 28; K Bryce 3-49, K Fraser 2-37, C Abel 2-50)
Kathryn Bryce unbeaten on 131 (ICC)
Jane Maguire with an early wicket for Ireland, Prendergast with the 2nd and Canning the 3rd as the Scots struggled in the powerplay. But a dominant second half to their innings propelled Scotland to an impressive total as the Irish bowling and catching again cracked when put under pressure enabling them to add 52 in the final five overs, skipper Katheryn Bryce finishing a magnificent 131 not out. Good opening partnership ends at 109 and Amy Hunter goes first ball. Wickets falling with no one able to go on - all down to Laura Delany in the closing overs, and Jane Maguire who is swinging at everything! Two missed run outs saves Maguire and Delany dropped - Scotland throwing this away! But Lister catches Maguire to leave 7 needed off Kathryn Bryce's final over. Dot, 1, 4 first ball from Canning! W (bowled), lb scores tied, lb wins it!
Women's World Cup Qualifier, Ireland beat Thailand by 46 runs
Lahore CCA, 15 April.
Ireland 305/4 (50 overs: A Hunter 76, G Lewis 75, Leah Paul 67*, S Forbes 29, L Delany 23*, O Prendergast 21)
Thailand 259 (49.1 overs: S Khiaoto 59, P Maya 43, N Chaiwai 37, T Putthawong 22, N Konchardankai 20; L Little 5-28, K McCartney 2-73)
Wicket celebrations for Kia McCartney (ICC)
Ireland piled up the runs against the weakest side in the Qualifier - an 88 run opening partnership between Sarah Forbes and Gaby Lewis followed by another, Lewis and Amy Hunter adding 56. Ireland with their usual top six today, but three changes down the order Louise Little, Sophia MacMahon and a debut for Kia McCartney, in for Christina Coulter-Reilly, Arlene Kelly and Jane Maguire. Laura Delany and Leah Paul added 86 in the final ten overs. No real pressure on the bowlers today but disappointing for them to allow Thailand to post 250+, including a partnership of 90 for the fifth wicket, when they had been bowled out for just 93 by Bangladesh and 148 by Scotland. A win's a win and at this stage Ireland will take anything. Five wickets for Louise Little, will that keep her in the side for the final game against Scotland?
Women's World Cup Qualifier, Bangladesh beat Ireland by 2 wickets
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, 13 April.
Ireland 235/8 (50 overs: L Delany 63, O Prendergast 41, A Hunter 33, G Lewis 24, A Kelly 24*; R Khan 3-39, F Khatun 2-50)
Bangladesh 240/8 (48.4 overs: R Moni 67*, NS Joty 51, F Khatun 28, S Akhter 24; O Prendergast 2-14, A Kelly 2-53)
Sarah Forbes run out by a deflected Lewis drive (ICC)
A more aggressive batting approach paid off for Ireland with contribution all down the order after the early dismissal of Sarah Forbes. With Laura Delany posting a half century in a 72 run partnership with Orla Prendergast and late runs from Arlene Kelly Ireland’s total of 235 looked to have given them a real chance of victory. With early strikes from Orla Prendergast and disciplined bowling Bangladesh found themselves struggling to keep themselves in the game. Wickets fell at regular intervals and coming into the final five overs needing 38 Bangladesh had Ritu Moni to thank for the win as she added 32 to her personal total finishing the game with an imperious six over long on with eight balls to spare. Questions though as to why Orla Prendergast bowled only 6 of her possible 10 overs in such a vital game.
Women's World Cup Qualifier, West Indies beat Ireland by 6 runs

West Indies 181/6 (33 overs: C Henry 46*, S Taylor 46, Z James 36, H Matthews 23; J Maguire 3-35)
Ireland 175 (32.2 overs: A Hunter 48, L Delany 32, C Coulter-Reilly 26, A Kelly 18, G Lewis 17; H Matthews 4-24, K Ramharack 2-27, A Alleyne 2-33)
Ireland celebrate a wicket (ICC/Cricket Ireland)
Delayed start and match reduced to 33 overs with Ireland choosing to field. Ireland dragging things back after a Hayley Matthews opening blast. West Indies looked to accelerate after drinks with a Taylor and James stand worth 85 going into the last 10. Not a time for one of Ireland’s worst displays in the field but that’s what we saw. Great start to the chase with Hunter quickly to 30 and Lewis also looking fluent in their half century opening stand. How quickly things change once the Big Three departed. Delany and Coulter-Reilly ticking along - 60 required off 8 overs. Hanging in there but losing wickets and 26 needed from 24 balls. Down to the last last pair and 8 needed off 6 balls. Kelly goes for glory trying to clear the ropes but caught at long-on. Beaten by six runs. That awful fielding effort has cost them.

Women's World Cup Qualifier, Pakistan beat Ireland by 38 runs
Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, 9 April.
Pakistan 217 (49 overs: A Riaz 52, S Amin 51, M Ali 32; J Maguire 3-33, A Kelly 2-34, C Murray 2-49)
Ireland 179 (44 overs: G Lewis 44, A Hunter 44, O Prendergast 36*; D Baig 4-35, N Sandhu 3-41, S Iqbal 2-33)
Amy Hunter is bowled a second victim of the sweep. (ICC)
Ireland threw away the chance to record a win in their opening fixture with an all too familiar batting collapse. A strong display in the field saw Ireland restrict Pakistan to a sub-par total of 217. Sidra Ameen and Aliya Riaz had added 72 for the third wicket but after their departure the pressure told and they lost their last five wickets for just 23 runs. With both Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter posting 44 Ireland were well placed in the chase but both fell in quick succession sweeping at spinner Sandhu before Laura Delany followed without scoring in identical fashion to give Sandhu her third. Four wickets falling for 14 runs left Ireland last two wickets requiring fifty runs and that was never going to happen.
ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier, Warmup: : Ireland beat Thailand by 3 wickets
Lahore, 7 April.
Thailand 227/8 (50 overs: N Chantham 48, N Chaiwal 45, C Sutthiruang 38, N Boochatam 27; A Dalzell 2-21, K McCartney 2-45)
Ireland 231/7 (37.4 overs; L Delany 75 ret, L Little 69, S Forbes 31 ret; N Boochatam 3-26, P Maya 2-33)
Alana Dalzell struck twice in quick succession. (CricketEurope)
A double wicket maiden by ninth bowler Alana Dalzell swung things Ireland's way after Thailand had reached 149/4 in the 35th over. Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast go cheaply in a rejigged batting order, but Sarah Forbes did well for her 31 before retiring. Leah Paul and Christine Coulter-Reilly both gone before 100 on the board. Delany and Louise Little restore Ireland's fortunes with what looks will be a match defining sixth wicket partnership of 119 in 20 overs before they both depart - Delany retiring at the same time as Little is dismissed. Arlene Kelly and Ava Canning ensure the win as Ed Joyce's side get a morale boosting win ahead of their first match proper against Pakistan on Wednesday.
ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier, Warmup: : West Indies beat Ireland by 5 wickets
Lahore, 5 April.
Ireland 248/8 (50 overs; L Delany 67*, L Paul 46, G Lewis 45, C Murray 28*; H Matthews 3-62, K Ramharack 2-36, A Fletcher 2-41)
West Indies 252/5 (41.1 overs; H Matthews 55, S Taylor 53*, Z James 47, S Ganjabi 25, C Henry 23; C Murray 3-73)
Openers Zaida James and Hayley Matthews posted 90 in the chase (WIndies Cricket)
Skipper Gaby Lewis batted fluently to make 45 before retiring, and it was then down to former captain Laura Delany. She made an unbeaten 67 sharing half century stands with Leah Paul and Cara Murray as Ed Joyce's side do well to make 248 for 8. Windies openers Matthews and James added 90 before Cara Murray made the breakthrough. Zia McCartney claimed her first senior scalp and Murray added two more, but the Windies always looked to have things under control easing home with more than eight overs to spare Stephanie Taylor completing a better than a run-a-ball half century. Ireland's final warmup game is on Monday versus Thailand.
ICC Women's Championship, 3rd ODI: : India beat Ireland by 304 runs
Rajkot, 15 January.
India 435/5 (50 overs: P Rawal 154, S Mandhana 135, R Ghosh 59, T Hasabnis 28; O Prendergast 2-71)
Ireland 131 (31.4 overs: S Forbes 41, O Prendergast 36; D Sharma 3-27, T Kanwar 2-31)
India's openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal both scored centuries (BCCI)
A new record ODI score for India as openers Smriti Mandhana and Prakita Rawal both posted centuries in an opening partnership of 233 giving an indication of what was in store for Ireland’s bowlers. No let up in the second half of the innings as Richa Ghosh blasted a half century (10x4, 1x6). One commentator saying if it had been a boxing match the referee would have stepped in long ago! Gaby Lewis gone in the first over LBW missing a pull shot and Christina Coulter Reilly is bowled without scoring, not the start Ireland were hoping for. Two 'new' spinners await the Girls in Green today - Tanuja Kanwar a slow left armer and off spinner Minnu Mani. Promising third wicket stand of 64 is ended with the dismissal of Prendergast, quickly followed by the run out of Forbes. Wickets continued to tumble on a day to forget.
ICC Women's Championship, 2nd ODI: : India beat Ireland by 116 runs
Rajkot, 12 January.
India 370/5 (50 overs: J Rodrigues 102, H Deol 89; S Mandhana 73, P Rwal 67; O Prendergast 2-75, A Kelly 2-82, G Dempsey 1-42)
Ireland 254/7 (50 overs: C Coulter Reilly 80, S Forbes 38, L Delany 37, L Paul 27*; D Sharma 3-37, P Mishra 2-53)
Jemimah Rodrigues celebrates her maiden ODI century (BCCI)
Ireland's attack put to the sword as an opening partnership of 156 set India on their way to their highest ever ODI total. Runs all down the order and a sparkling maiden ODI century for Jemima Rodrigues. Ireland without Aimee Maguire and although Laura Delany is in the side she didn't bowl today. There was no prospect of a successful Irish chase but a maiden half-century for Christina Coulter Reilly in 50+ partnerships with Sarah Forbes and Laura Delany on a day when there was no contribution from Gaby Lewis or Orla Prendergast will cheer the Irish camp as they better their match 1 total.
ICC Women's Championship, 1st ODI: : India beat Ireland by 6 wickets
Rajkot, 10 January.
Ireland 238/7 (50 overs: G Lewis 92, L Paul 59, A Kelly 28; P Mishra 2-56)
India 241/4 (33.3 overs: Pratika Rawal 89, T Hasabnis 53*, S Mandhana 41, H Deol 20; A Maguire 3-57, F Sargent 1-38)
Captains Gaby Lewis and Smriti Mandhana with the Trophy (BCCI)
A record breaking fifth wicket partnership of 117 between skipper Gaby Lewis and Leah Paul rescued Ireland for a precarious 56/4, and aided by a sloppy display in the field by India enabled the visitors to post a respectable total in this first of three ODIs. It was made to look very inadequate however as the hosts romped home with more than 16 overs to spare despite resting their leading strike bowler Ranuka Singh and regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Pratika Rawal took full advantage of a chance to open the innings scoring a run-a-ball 89, falling to a third catch by Orla Prendergast, a third wicket for Aimee Maguire, as Rawal chased a maiden ODI century. Next match in the series is on Sunday, same time, same place. India's win moves them into second place in the Championship table above England.
Ireland Women Under 19 2025
T20: ECB Team 1 beat Ireland by 5 wickets.
Loughborough, 29 August.
Ireland 116-6 (20 overs; R Lowe 24*, A Maguire 21*, A Walsh 20; G Jeer 2-14, E Lamb 2-21)
ECB Team 1 117-5 (15.1 overs; Extras 28, G Jeer 44*, S Patil 21; A Maguire 2-20)
A positive approach paid dividends after Ireland were put in to bat in the first of two T20 matches today for the Girls in Green on this the final day of their series with the 3 ECB U19 teams. Alice Walsh and Rebecca Lowe taking the fight to their hosts with Lowe and Aimee Maguire adding 33 for the sixth wicket in the closing overs. England seamers Gen Jeer and Emma Lamb each claimed two wickets. Jenny Jackson strikes in the first over and Aimee Maguire takes the second with her first delivery! But extras are hurting the Irish cause again with seventeen in the first three overs! Shristi Patil gloves a sweep to Abbi Harrison to give Maguire her second wicket and Diya Badge drives Mansi Bhavsar to Alice Tector at extra cover that wicket with her third delivery. England 76-5 but then Gen Jeer adds a top score of 44* to her two wickets and England get home with almost five overs to spare. No surprise that the winning run is a Wide. With the batters having to fight for every run in these matches how frustrating it must be for them to see the bowlers pile up extras. Of course it’s not just the extras themselves it's the runs scored off the extra deliveries as well!
T20: ECB Team 2 beat Ireland by 7 wickets.
Loughborough, 29 August.
Ireland 99 (20 overs; G Morrissey 26; V Weerapulli 3-16, L Randle-Bissell 2-15, O Baker 2-17)
ECB Team 2 100-3 (12.3 overs; B Gillgrass 36, S Beech 32; A Lawlor 2-10)
Ireland scrambled their way to 99 bowled out off the final ball of the twentieth over in their final match of the ECB series. Only three of the side managed double figures, Genevieve Morrissey top scoring with 26, Annabel Squires and Abbi Harrison both with 12. England's Legspin/Googly bowler Venus Weerappulli claimed three wickets showing all her variations, while there were two each for seamers Baker and Lucy Randle-Bissell. England's openers the Warwickshire pairing of Sophie Beech and Bryony Gillgrass wasted no time in getting the scoreboard moving. Their partnership was worth 82 before Mansi Bhavsar tempts Gillgrass into a 'paddle' to Kia McCartney behind square. Beech falls lbw to Aisling Lawlor who has a second in the over bowling Burke. Too little, too late Lancashire's Olivia Burke hits 14 off 6 to bring the game to a quick end.
One Day: ECB Team 1 beat Ireland by 45 runs (DLS).
Loughborough, 28 August.
ECB Team 1 252-8 (46 overs; D Badge 56, P Sproul 37, M Andrews 33, S Patil 29, G Jeer 27*; A Maguire 2-42, A Lawlor 2-65)
Ireland 207-8 (45 overs; A Squires 59, R Lowe 47, A Tector 24, A Maguire 20*; P Walker 4-58, M Andrews 2-37) (Rain interrupted - 1st innings ended after 46 overs. Ireland target 253 off 46 overs.)
Diya Badge, a Blaze Academy member, top scoring for the ECB side and there were runs also for Scotland's Pippa Sproul while for Ireland there were two wickets each for Aimee Maguire and Aisling Lawlor. And there was a much improved performance from the Irish batting lineup today after they had been set a formidable total by the ECB team. A half century for Annabel Squires and a near miss by Rebecca Lowe. Poppy Walker breaking a 50 run partnership between Annabel Squires and Millie Spence, with Squires going on to post top score and Walker, the best of the English attack, finishing with four wickets.
ECB Team 2 beat Ireland by 229 runs.
Brockington, Loughborough., 26 August.
ECB Team 2 294 (48.4 overs; D Brandon 52, P Tullouch 37, A Williams 36, P Reddy 33, M Bishop 23, S Beech 22; M Spence 3-48, A Maguire 2-75)
Ireland 65 (20.2 overs; P Tulloch 3-27, V Weerappulli 2-5, L Randle-Bissell 2-15, M Bishop 2-18)
Millie Spence took three wickets (Cricket Ireland)
Ireland Under-19 Women were on the wrong end of a 229-run mauling by the ECB at Loughborough. Three wickets for Bready’s Millie Spence and two for Aimee Maguire – continuing her rehabilitation after a bowling ban for a suspect action – had the hosts in trouble at 119 for 5, but they rallied to make 294. Ireland’s batters were skittled for just 65, with Maguire making 13 and Lisburn’s Rebecca Lowe 11.Next up for them is another 50 game on Thursday against the ECB Team 1.
Women's Under 19 T20 World Cup, Group 2: : Nigeria beat Ireland by 6 runs
Bangi, 29 January.
Nigeria 94/7 (20 overs: C Chukwuonye 25; K McCartney 2-13)
Ireland 88 (18.4 overs: R Lowe 21: L Ude 3-11, A Akhigbe 2-8, P Usen 2-21)
Congratulations for Peace Usen from Nigerian captain Lucky Piety (ICC)
There was to be no happy ending for the Girls in Green as they came up short chasing what looked like an inadequate Nigerian total. There were late runs from Omosigho Eguakun and Peculiar Agboya, plus that contribution from opener Cristabel Chukwuonye in the Nigerian innings, wickets shared by the Irish bowlers with two for Kia McCartney. The Irish reply got off to the worst possible start, Alice Walsh bowled by Peace Usen without scoring, but with Freya Sargent and Rebecca Lowe adding 30 the chase looked well on course. Accurate bowling by POTM Lilian Ude, Anointed Akhigbe and Peace Usen plus excellent catching was the key to the Nigerian victory that sees them finish third in the group and Ireland bottom.
Women's Under 19 T20 World Cup, Group 2: : Ireland lost to South Africa by 7 wickets
Sarawak, 25 January.
Ireland 35 (9.4 overs: M Lagodi 4-4, K Reyneke 3-2)
South Africa 36/3 (6.1 overs: J Jackson 2-6) (Delayed start - Match reduced to 10 overs)
Monalisa Legodi celebrates her amazing figures (ICC)
Consecutive boundaries from Freya Sargent but lbw next ball in the second over. Rebecca Lowe and Annabel Squires both caught sweeping in Reyneke's first - Abbi Harrison nearly a third in the over, missing, you guessed it a SWEEP! Harrison in two minds bowled in the next by Legodi who claims McNally, MacNulty, and McBride in her next - 3 Big Macs for Monalisa. Lots of 'getting out' shots being played. Nthabiseng Nini back and bowls Lucy Neely first up. McCartney run out in the final over and McGee caught next ball to give Reyneke her third wicket. Jenny JacksonÂ’s left-arm inswing traps Jemma Botha lbw in the first over before Ramlaken chops on, two in the over. With Simone Lourens and Kayla Reyneke adding 28 for the third wicket South Africa's win was inevitable ensuring their place in the semi-finals.
Women's Under 19 T20 World Cup, Group B: : Ireland beat Pakistan by 13 runs (DLS)
Johor, 22 January.
Ireland 69/5 (9 overs A Walsh 31; M Khalid 2-6)
Pakistan 59/7 (9 overs: E McGee 2-13) (Rain interrupted - reduced to 9 overs per side. Pakistan target 73)
The end of Alice Walsh (ICC)
Bright start by Ireland with the rain interruption coming at 25/1 off 3.1 overs. Ireland with 35 more balls to face in their reduced innings play tip and run, all a bit frantic. Five boundaries for Alice Walsh in a 19 ball innings before she drags on from way outside off stump. Two wickets off the final two deliveries for Memoona Khalid sets her side a DLS adjusted target of 73 for a place in the Super Sixes. Confident start to the chase by Pakistan but agressive running costs them their first wicket with a TV review to decide if they'd crossed. Two more run outs, good returns well gathered by Freya Sargent swings the game Ireland's way. 30 required off the final 3 overs and no inroads being made by Pakistan. Now it's 26 off 12. Five singles and a wicket off Ellie McGee leaves Pakistan needing 21 off the final over and they manage only 7.
Women's Under 19 T20 World Cup, Group B: : Ireland lost to USA by 9 wickets
Johor, 20 January.
Ireland 75 (17.4 overs: A Walsh 16, A Harrison 13, L McBride 13; F Sargent 10; I Vaghela 3-10, R Singh 2-8, A Chudasama 2-16)
USA 79/1 (9.4 overs: D Dhingra 46, C Pagydyala 23*; L McBride 1-0)
A second ball dismissal for Ellie McGee (ICC)
USA recorded a thumping victory over Ireland in what is likely to be the battle for the final Super Sixes spot in Group B. After an inauspicious display with the bat, the Girls in Green wilted with the ball as Disha Dhingra carried the USA to the brink of victory with a 33 ball innings that included 5x4 & 2x6. With the scores tied she was bowled by Lara McBride in just the tenth over of what was in the end a one-sided match. It would be easy to pass this off as 'a day to forget' for Ireland, but it may be more useful for them to make it a 'day to remember'.
Women's Under 19 T20 World Cup, Group B: : England v Ireland - no result
Johor, 18 January.
England 144/7 (20 Overs: J Spence 37, C Stubbs 31, D Perrin 26, C Lambert 25; E Magee 2-20)
Ireland 28/2 (3.5 overs: R Lowe 16*, A Walsh 10)
Ireland celebrate a wicket (ICC)
A challenging total set by England after being asked to bat by Ireland and a disastrous start to the chase with Freya Sargent running herself out without facing. New batter Rebecca Lowe is almost bowled first ball missing a sweep, Walsh charges up the pitch to run the Bye and Lowe avoids being run out only because the keeper's throw hits her as she attempts to make it to the bowler's end! Then with rain falling, Walsh slapped the ball to mid off and set off for a non-existent single, a direct hit saw her yards short - Madness! Three balls later the umpires called a halt for rain and with only 7 more deliveries required to achieve a DLS result time ran out for a restart leaving the sides with a point each. No prizes for guessing who was the happier side with that result.

Ireland Under 17 Girls made it three wins on the bounce with a 15-run win to clinch the tri-series in Deventer with a game to spare. The Clontarf duo of Genevieve Morrissey and Gemma Sargent (17*) played a starring role in the hard-fought encounter. Irish senior international Alice Tector top-scored with 24, and Bready’s Millie Spence hit three boundaries in a quickfire unbeaten 21 as the Girls In Green made 118 for 8. CSNI opening bowler Vanessa Minford took three wickets in the Dutch reply as they were bowled out for 85 – skipper Lara Leemhuis making 20. Anna Ellerby took five wickets (AS)
Anna Ellerby took five wickets as Ireland Under 17 girls got their tri-series in the Netherlands off to a great start with back-to-back wins against the hosts in Rotterdam. The Instonians left-arm seamer had the excellent figures of 5 for 14, while CSNI’s Emily Carville took three wickets as the Dutch were dismissed for 83 – Manouk Bruijn top-scoring with 28. Ireland’s batters were soon in trouble in the chase, slumping to 24 for six with Mia Van Egdom taking three wickets. They were rescued though thanks to an unbroken seventh wicket partnership of 60 between Merrion’s Aisling Lawlor, who made an unbeaten 28, and Clontarf’s Genevieve Morrissey who scored 25 not out in the four-wicket win.

Earlier, Louise Little had made 106, while Ireland captain Gaby Lewis scored 63. Typhoons broke their duck in the SS20 by winning the final match of the competition, beating Scorchers by eight wickets with five balls to spare. Their chase was always under control after Rebecca Stokell and Sarah Forbes put on 44 for the first wicket in five overs. Leah Paul then joined Forbes to add 61 for the second wicket in seven overs and Laura Delany stayed with Paul who finished 55 not out from 33 balls with nine fours. The Ireland international all-rounder was also the only Typhoons bowler to take more than one wicket as Scorchers totalled 161 for six, boosted by Ava Canning’s unbeaten 30 from just 18 balls. Eimear Richardson top scored with 54 from 45 balls before she was out hit wicket, the rare occurrence happening for the second time in two days in this competition. On a weekend for the batters, Scorchers lost 16 wickets, while Dragons lost seven and Typhoons only six.

Amy Hunter and Bella Armstrong (CricketEurope)
Dragons retained the SS20 title with a game to spare after beating Scorchers by 38 runs in their first match of the day. An opening partnership of 171 between Amy Hunter and Bella Armstrong was seven more than Scorchers managed in their reply, bowled out in the final over. Armstrong was the first to go, leg before to Sophie McMahon for 85, from 54 balls with 11 fours and three sixes. Hunter, who was missed on 22 and 31, was finally dismissed in the final over for 89 when she hit her wicket; she faced 58 balls and hit 12 fours as Dragons finished on 202 for four. While Gaby Lewis was in the middle, Scorchers were on course to chase down the total but her dismissal, much to her surprise, given out lbw for 77 from just 39 balls (14 fours and a six) led to a collapse as the remaining six wickets fell for 38 runs. Arlene Kelly was the most successful bowler with three for 29.

Amy Hunter receives the trophy from Cricket Ireland President Donna Armstrong (CricketEurope)
Amy Hunter was presented with the SS20 trophy by Cricket Ireland president Donna Armstrong after Dragons completed the clean sweep with a sixth straight win in the afternoon match, beating Typhoons by 11 runs. It was a case of déjà vu as openers Amy Hunter and Bella Armstrong posted their second century stand of the day, bringing their partnerships tally to 312 before Hunter was leg before to Leah Paul with the score on 141. Armstrong, who was out for 85 in the morning match could add only five more this time in an innings that included 17 fours. Their total of 191 for three was under threat for much of the Typhoons reply although the run out of Rebecca Stokell, after she had scored 25 from 13 balls, was ultimately crucial. Paul hit 45 off 35 balls and Laura Delany was 60 not out from 47 when the overs ran out. The difference was their lack of boundaries. No-one hit more than five and there were only 19 in the innings; Dragons hit 33 in a game without a single six.

Orla Prendergast was in the runs again (CricketEurope)
This was the Orla Prendergast show, another stand-out performance from the Ireland international extending Dragons lead at the top of the SS20 table and ensuring a fourth straight victory. She scored 97 of the Dragons’ 153 for four and the fact it took all but seven balls of the Typhoons innings for their batters to pass Prendergast’s total, never mind threaten victory, underlined her dominance. She played her first false stroke on 71, was missed, a difficult chance on 85 and a more straightforward one on 92. She needed seven off the last two balls to bring up her hundred but missed the scoop shot from the fifth ball. The next top score was Bella Armstrong’s 25. Prendergast then took a wicket with her first ball but, like opening partner Alana Dalzell, was asked to bowl only two overs. Arlene Kelly was denied a wicket in the last over by a dropped catch but a stumping off the last ball of the innings gave her a deserved third wicket for just 13 runs. Laura Delany finished 41 not out from 39 balls for the Typhoons but this was Orla’s day – again.

Player of the Match Sophie MacMahon (CricketEurope)
Scorchers made it two wins out of two in the SS20 with a comfortable seven wickets win over Typhoons; they had 39 balls to spare. Rebecca Stokell dominated the Typhoons innings with 60 out of her side’s 116. She faced 51 balls and hit seven fours and a six but only Laura Delany of her team-mates struggled into double figures. Four bowlers shared the seven wickets although Lou Little didn’t bowl and Ava Canning did not return after the first over. Little took 18 off the first over of the Scorchers reply and with Gaby Lewis hitting 42 from 23 balls, the result was never in doubt. Sophie McMahon finished it off with 22 not out and added to her two wickets for 22, she was named player of the match.

Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast (CricketEurope)
Defending champions Dragons eased to the top of the SS20 table with a third straight victory, a resounding nine wickets success in the afternoon match. After restricting the Scorchers to 124 for nine, Bella Armstrong ensured a fast start with five fours in her 25 off 13 balls. Although she was well caught on the boundary by Eimear Richardson at the end of the fourth over, Orla Prendergast replaced her and with Amy Hunter stroked off the remaining runs in a classy undefeated partnership of 90. Prendergast brought up her 50 with the winning boundary, the 11th four to go with two sixes in the innings. Prendergast had earlier taken two for 13 in her four overs, one of three Dragons bowlers to claim a double. Gaby Lewis and Scorchers captain Tina Coulter-Reilly both got into the 40s but were caught out before reaching their half-century. Dragons will expect to extend their lead at the top on Monday morning against Typhoons.

Defending champions the Dragons made it two wins from two as they chased down 176 to beat the Scorchers by seven wickets with an over to spare in the T20 Trophy at Bready. Gaby Lewis hit 12 fours and a six in a 43-ball 71, adding 91 in ten overs for the second wicket with Eimear Richardson (32). Their total of 175 for six was given a late impetus injection from Sophie MacMahon, who thumped four boundaries and two maximums in a 13-ball 33. Alana Dalzell and Ella Marsh each collected two wickets. Bella Armstrong (23) added 49 for the opening wicket with the prolific Amy Hunter, but it was the second wicket partnership of 102 in ten overs between the Belfast 19-year-old and fellow international Orla Prendergast that was the match-defining one. Hunter top-scored with a 44-ball 64 that included nine boundaries - five of them consecutively off Louise Little in an over that changed the complexion of the game. Prendergast also hit nine fours in a 34-ball 53, before both fell in quick succession. 26 were needed off 21 balls when Abbi Harrison (12*) was joined by Arlene Kelly (10*), with the pair ensuring victory with six balls to spare.

Sophie MacMahon and Ava Canning were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets apiece. The chase was effectively over inside the powerplay as Gaby Lewis (33) and Louise Little (32) set about the bowlers. Eimear Richardson (28*) continued the assault as the eight wicket win was sealed with almost eight overs to spare.

The Belfast teenager hit 14 fours and a six in an unbeaten 94, sharing an unbroken third wicket stand of 132 with Waringstown's Abbi Harrison (31*), helping the hosts recover from 6 for 2 to post 138 for two. Alana Dalzell struck two early blows in the chase, and despite the best efforts of Laura Delany who made a 33-ball unbeaten 57 (6 fours, 2 sixes) they fell ten short. Leah Paul made a breezy 31 as she and Delany added 68 for the fourth wicket.
