Jeremy Frith is a true legend in Guernsey cricket. The all-rounder displayed an incredible record of consistency in his playing career with the Channel Island.

That was never more evident in his 26 matches in the World Cricket League between 2009 and 2012.

Thanks to his all-round efforts Guernsey climbed from Division Seven to Division Five.

In fact Frith tops the all-time averages for the ten years of the competition which pitted sides from all across the globe.

In 24 innings he scored three centuries against Suriname, Nigeria and Malaysia, plus 11 half centuries as he made an aggregate 1234 runs at a very healthy average of 61.70.

He certainly wasn't a one-trick pony though as he was also a wily and steady left-arm spinner who claimed 37 scalps at 20.86, and a very impressive economy rate of 3.62.

His best-bowling display of 5-8 also came against Suriname, the match in which he also got three figures.

Frith was probably at his best in the 2011 Division Six tournament in Malaysia where he recorded scores of 82 twice and 80 over the space of four days in wins against bitter rivals Jersey, Fiji and Kuwait.

Although he managed only 14 in the final against Malaysia, Guernsey clinched the title thanks to a remarkable partnership between Tom Kimber and David Hooper.

He signed off his Guernsey career in the WCL as he had so often done before - making another half century, 57 against the Cayman Islands in Singapore.

After his retirement, Guernsey yo-yoed between Divisions Five and Six, before the structure which had been used as de facto World Cup Qualifying tournament was effectively disbanded. Without the prospect of gaining a World Cup place, it came as no surprise when the competition formats were replaced.

Frith's record therefore will stand forever.
