UAE beat Nepal by 4 wickets.
Dubai, 5 November 2025.
Nepal 239-9 (50 overs; B Sharki 48, K Malla 46*, DS Airee 37, Aasif Sheikh 34, Aarif Sheikh 30; D Parashar 2-28, J Siddique 2-36, M Jawadullah 2-63)
UAE 243-6 (49.1 overs; M Shahdad 96, M Wasem 76, S Khan 29; Karan KC 3-58)
Kushal Bhurtel edges behind in the second over. (ICC)
Nepal hoping to avenge last week's defeat by UAE in this the final match of the series, but not a great start with opener Kushal Bhurtel out in the second over. Bhim Sharki and Aasif Sheikh added 74 for the second wicket but both fall to Sharafu catches off Dhruv Parashar. Lots of starts all through the order but no one passing 50. 233 wasn't enough for them last week can they defend 235 this time? A wicket for Karan KC in the opening over of the reply. Steady progress after that early setback, half way there after 30 overs with Muhammad Shahdad and Muhammad Waseem in a partnership worth 80 so far and a run-a-ball needed from the last 15 overs. Partnership broken at 147 but the damage had been done, and a final success for Nepal as Karan KC has Shahdad caught behind depriving him of his century and a third wicket for him in his final over. A boundary first ball of the final over gives UAE the win, perfectly paced chase you may say.
UAE lost to USA by 243 runs
Dubai, 3 November 2025.
USA 292-3 (50 overs; S Mukkamalla 137*, M Kumar 123*; J Siddique 2-60)
UAE 49 (22.1 overs; R Ugarkar 5-23, S Netravalkar 3-4)
Respect from UAE for the two centurions (ICC)
Early successes for UAE after asking USA to bat with the wickets of openers Smit Patel and Sheyan Jahangir in the first three overs and skipper Monank Patel following soon after, a second wicket for Junaid Siddique. But a massive unbroken partnership on 264 for the fourth wicket between Saiteja Mukkamalla and Milind Kumar gave USA what surely is a winning total. Kumar's innings in the series of 70*,71,70,123* must make him a certainty for Player Of The Tournament. A double wicket maiden from Rushil Ugarkar rocks the UAE reply and that’s the start of a total surrender! All out for 49 with a five-wicket haul for Ugarkar and three wickets for Netravalkar. About as one-sided as you can get.
Nepal lost to USA by 4 wickets.
Dubai, 1 November 2025.
Nepal 271 (49.5 overs; DS Airee 75, Karan KC 49, K Bhurtel 47, B Sharki 43,, R Paudel 36; H Singh 3-33, N Kenjige 2-45, S Netravalkar 2-61)
USA 273-6 (49 overs; S Mukkamalla 75, M Kumar 70, S Jahangir 36, M Patel 21; S Lamichhane 3-53)
DS Airee top scored for Nepal with a rapid 75 (Cricket Nepal)
After being asked to bat, a steady start and an 89 run partnership for the fifth wicket between skipper Rohit Paudel and DS Airee held up USA. 200 up for Nepal with 10 overs and 5 wickets left, with DS Airee going well. Relief for USA as he falls with four overs left, only for Karan KC to blast 49 (2x4,3x6) off 31 balls. Upset on the cards? Perhaps but evenly poised at 111-3 halfway through the chase. A century partnership between Sietja Mukkamalla and Milind Kumar makes USA favourites - 70 needed off the last ten overs. Partnership broken by Lanichhane at 123 perhaps too late to save his side? Now Muckkamalla falls to Karan KC -- could USA be letting this slip? Rate climbs past 9! A Six and dropped catch that was shovelled for 4 plus a wicket in Lamichhane's final over that goes for 13. Now 16 required off 12 for a USA win. Two Wides and two Sixes off Yadav in the 49th seal the win with an over to spare. Nepal wilted in the final overs when the pressure came on.
UAE beat Nepal by 5 wickets.
Dubai, 30 October 2025.
Nepal 233 (50 overs; R Paudel 109, Asif Sheikh 35, Aarif Sheikh 27, DS Airee 23; Z Ali 4-41, J Siddique 3-54)
UAE 237-5 (43.3 overs; A Sharma 98, A Sharufa 45, M Waseem 26; S Lamichhane 2-34)
UAE celebrate a wicket for Siddique (Emirates Cricket)
A century from skipper Rohit Paudel the highlight of the Nepal innings which saw him add half century partnerships with Aasif Sheikh and DS Airee. Three wickets for Junaid Siddique and with two wickets in the final over Zahid Ali claimed four on his ODI debut. A rapid start to the chase by Alishan Sharufa with 45 off 26 (6x4, 3x6) and a half-century by his opening partner sees UAE half way to their target inside 20 overs. UAE cruising along with 60 required off 20 overs - still only two down. 130 added for the third wicket but then two wickets in quick succession gives Nepal a glimmer of hope, Muhammad Waseem runout and Aryansh Sharma chipping back to Sandeep Lamichhane on 98. But it was too little, too late for Nepal as Dhruv Parashar and Zahid Ali took no chances, seeing their side home with over six overs to spare.
UAE lost to USA by 4 wickets
Dubai, 28 October 2025.
UAE 211-9 (50 overs; H Kaushik 53, R Chopra 36, M Shahdad 34, S Khan 27, M Waseem 21; S Netravalkar 3-26, S Ranjane 2-44, J Singh 2-51)
USA 213-6 (49.1 overs; M Kumar 71, M Patel 50, S Ranjane 46*; J Siddique 3-44, S Singh 2-48)
Harshit Kaushik celebrates 50 on debut (Emirates Cricket)
Put in by the USA, UAE lost both openers in the first two overs before solid scores through the middle order saw them finally claw their way past 200 thanks to a half-century by Harshit Kaushik that included four maximums. UAE relieved to get past 200 and USA no doubt confident that they can chase that down and go top of the table. An equally bad start from USA sees Smit Patel and Andries Gous fall to Junaid Siddique opening burst, so maybe not as straightforward as USA might have though. Skipper Patel and Kumar launching a counter-attack that has the contest evenly poised at the 20-over mark, but the stand is ended at 52 as Singh gets his second wicket, 128-5 at the 30-overs mark and you get the feeling this is going all the way. Kumar reaches his 50 and the stand with Ranjane is worth 73 and counting as they look on course for the win at 183-5 in the 43rd over. Third wicket for Junaid Siddique. Could there be a late twist? USA hold their nerve to clinch the win in the last over. They go top of the table.
Nepal lost to USA by 106 runs.
Dubai, 26 October 2025.
USA 262-6 (50 overs; S Patel 75, M Kumar 70*, S Mukkamalla 42; S Lamichhane 2-56)
Nepal 156 (39.1 overs; DS Airee 40, Aasif Sheikh 37, B Sharki 29, Aarif Sheikh 20; H Singh 6-27, S Ranjane 2-32)
Two games this week against the basement teams, Nepal and UAE, gives USA a good chance to overtake Scotland at the top of the table. Opener Smit Patel top scoring for USA adding 95 for the third wicket with Saiteja Mukkamalla, their total boosted by a late better than a run-a-ball knock for Milind Kumar. Eight bowlers used by Nepal, two wickets from Sandip Lamichhane their best return. Kushal Bhurtel gone second ball of the reply before Aasif Sheikh and Bhim Sharki added 69 for the second, both departing in quick succession. It was all a bit of a struggle after that as Shubham Ranjane and Harmeet Singh snuffed out any hope of an upset.

So after SEVEN inspections this farce has come to an end with no play seemingly possible. Of course the outfield is dry enough for the players to be kicking a ball around for the last couple of hours - I always wonder how football and Rugby manage to get played when wet grass is seemingly too dangerous for cricket?

George Munsey got Scotland off to a flying start (Cricket Scotland)
George Munsey in T20 mode, his 59 coming off just 31 balls (3x4, 6x6), but after he departed with the score at 88 in the tenth over, no one was able to keep that pace up, and Namibia would no doubt be satisfied with their efforts in the field. But in the end Scotland's total was more than enough after the customary early strikes from Brad Currie, followed by two more from Safyaan Sharif had reduced Namibia to 36-5 in the twelfth over. Three wickets from Chris Greaves confirmed Scotland's dominance in the comfortable win that carries them to the top of the Points Table. Namibia's only sucess was the MOM award, amazingly given to JJ Smit rather than George Munsey whose innings was undoubtedly the match winning one.

A record breaking 191 from George Munsey wasn't enough today (Cricket Scotland)
A record Scottish ODI score from George Munsey whose 191 included 14x4 & 11x6, propelled the Scots to seemingly safe 369. But with Max O'Dowd leading the chase the Oranje still in the game, 200 up in the 30th over. If O'Dowd is leading the way Nidamanuru and Croes are playing their their part also - 32 required off the final 4 overs. The Oranje surely favourites now, they've got the rate down from tens to a run-a-ball from the last 3 overs. Sharif can bowl two of them and he claims Croes third ball back! 11 required off 12 balls and 8 comes off Cassell's final over. 3 off 6 for a fantastic winning chase by the Netherlands. And O'Dowd wins it with a 6!! One of the great chases - what a match.

Helmets optional on a day where spin dominated proceedings (Cricket Namibia)
A half-hour delay before Namibia chose to bat losing Zane Green in Sana's first over. JP Kotzé and Nicolaas Davin added 70 for the second wicket but both out to left-arm spinner Shahid Ahmadzai, who claims Malan Kruger and JJ Smit to make it four. A struggle for the hosts against the four Canadian spinners before Sana returns and adds three more to his tally leaving Jan Loftie-Eaton unbeaten on 47. Steady start by Yuvraj Samra and Navneet Dhaliwal safely on to 'drinks'. But the resumption sees both edging Erasmus to keeper Zane Green. Another for Erasmus, Pargat Singh top edging a sweep to Kruger at short fine leg, pressure now on Canada with 24 required from 3 overs. SIX! that helps. Wicket next ball doesn't, and a run out adds to the agony. Finally Kumar, batting one-handed, is given lbw, to say 'close' would be generous!

A sixty run partnership between skipper Gerhard Erasmus and Malan Kruger was all Namibia had to show for their decision to bat first. Three early wickets for Aryan Dutt and three also for both Kyle Klein, who made the initial breakthrough, and Paul van Meekeren who wrapped the innings up, the last six wickets falling for just 32 runs. In the chase Bernard Scholtz caused a wobble with the wickets of Zach Lion-Cachet and Max O’Dowd in quick succession. From 40/3 Colin Ackermann and Scott Edwards steered the Oranje to the win and second place in the table, their unbroken partnership worth 112, both completing half centuries in the process.

A diving Dylan Leicher is inches short and the game is tied (ICC)
Canada’s openers Navneet Dhaliwal and Yuvraj Samra battled through the opening overs in an opening partnership of 54. 82/2 at the halfway stage but with wickets falling to Scholtz and Shaun Fouché there was little chance for any acceleration before the threat of rain brought the covers on and an end to the innings three overs early. In the chase Namibian skipper Gerard Erasmus and JJ Smit both fell at 111 and with boundaries drying up even a modest 5 an over from the last 10 seemed too big an ask for the host’s tail. Somehow they got it down to 7 required off Sana’s final over - 0,0,2,4,0, then Leichman parried the ball back to Sana and was just short as the bowler broke the stumps. Sana bowled the Super Over taking 2-2 plus a leg-bye. Not enough as Smit goes for 1,2,4, Pargat Singh with the winning boundary.

A day for spin in Windhoek (Cricket Namibia)
Netherlands openers Vikram Singh and Max O’Dowd battled through to the halfway stage of the reduced game posting 84 before both fell in quick succession. The innings turned into a procession after that with only Teja Nidamanuru offering any resistance but thirty-two precious runs added for the final wicket gave the Netherlands something to defend and defend it they did with some ease. Two wickets for Kyle Klein in his opening over, then three from off-spinner Ayran Dutt removed the middle order, before Zach Lion-Cachet wrapped things up with ten overs to spare.

Al Amerat, Muscat, 18 February 2025.
USA 122 (35.3 overs: M Kumar 47*; S Ahmed 3-20, K Aleem 2-22 S Shrivastava 2-41)
Oman 65 (25.3 overs: H Mirza 29; N Kenjige 5-11, Y Mohammad 2-10, M Kumar 2-17)
Nosthush Kenjige took five wickets for the USA (USA Cricket)
First blood to the hosts in this top of the table clash, winning the Toss and reducing the USA to 31/5, with three wickets for Shakeel Ahmed and two for Aamir Kaleen. In the end all five Omani bowlers took wickets with the only resistance coming from Milind Kumar who did what he could to marshall the tail to some sort of total. And amazingly it’s more than enough! Hammad Mirza the only batter to reach double figures as five fell to Nosthush Kenjige’s slow left arm spin. Like snow off a ditch with final six wickets falling for just eight runs. USA four points clear at the top of the table as the round of matches ends.
Oman beat Namibia by 2 wickets
Al Amerat, Muscat, 16 February 2025.
Namibia 99 (33.1 overs: J Loftie-Eaton 30, G Erasmus 15, R Trumplemann 14; S Ahmad 4-25, A Kaleem 2-16, J Odera 2-24)
Oman 100/8 (22.4 overs; A Kaleem 21; G Erasmus 5-34, B Scholtz 2-31)
The victorius Oman squad (Cricket Oman)
A disastrous start by Namibia after choosing to bat, slumping to 19/4 as the Omani opening bowlers, Ahmad and Odera each picked up two wickets. Jan Loftie-Eaton battled through to the twenty fifth over but was the seventh wicket to fall with the total at 74. Two more for Shakeel Ahmad leaves Namibia struggling to reach 100, and despite 14 from Ruben Trumplemann they don't quite get there. Oman though were made to fight all the way as five wickets from skipper Gerard Erasmus had them in trouble at 87 for 8 but they managed to scramble over the line.
Namibia lost to USA by 70 runs
Al Amerat, Muscat, 14 February 2025.
USA 268/9 (50 overs: A Gous 83, M Patel 53, S Krishnamurthi 41, A Jones 31; B Scholtz 5-22)
Namibia 198 (42.3 overs; Z Green 65, R Trumplemann 55, J Loftie-Eaton 28; S Netravalkar 3-41, M Kumar 3-42, J Singh 2-32)
Bernard Scholtz (CricketEurope)
USA skipper Monak Patel and Andries Gous added 96 for the second wicket after being asked to bat first. Late hitting Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Aaron Jones has set Namibia a challenging total. Bernard Scholtz with five wickets tor just 22 runs in his ten over spell. Namibia lost early wickets and despite half centuries from Zane Green and Ruben Trumplemann they were always behind in the chase. Three wickets apiece for Netravalkar and Kumar sealing a 70-run win,
Oman beat USA by 7 wickets.
Al Amerat, Muscat, 12 February 2025.
USA 151(41.2 overs; S Mukkamalla 80; S Ahmad 4-26, J Odedra 3-23, S Shrivastata 2-34)
Oman 152/3 (45.5 overs: J Singh 82*, A Kaleem 28: H Singh 2-20)
Oman lost to Namibia by 23 runs
Al Amerat, Muscat, 10 February 2025.
Namibia 169 (46.3 overs; M Kruger 39, J Balt 35*, J Kotze 29; S Shrivastat 4-56, S Mehmood 2-15, S Ahmad 2-26)
Oman 146 (37.2 overs; Jatinder Singh 25; JN Loftie-Eaton 2-19, JJ Smit 2-19, B Scholtz 2-26, R Trumpelmann 2-32, G Erasmus 2-42)
It looked like a routine chase as Oman reached 58 for 1 in pursuit of their target but it all went wrong. Two wickets apiece for Jan Loftie-Eaton, JJ Smit, Bernard Scholtz, Rubin Trumpelmann and Gerhard Erasmus sealing a 23-run verdict.
USA beat Namibia by 114 runs
Al Amerat, Muscat, 8 February 2025.
USA 293/8 (43 overs: A Gous 76, M Patel 65, M Kumar 54, S Mukkamalla 31, S Van Shalkwyk 21*; JJ Smit 4-46, B Scholtz 3-47)
Namibia 179 (40.2 overs: M Kruger 32, S Fouche 22, R Trumpleman 21; M Kumar 4-48, H Singh 2-35) (Delayed start - match reduced to 43 overs. Teams arrival delayed by traffic!)
Right call, wrong decision by Namibia at the Toss (ICC)
Andries Gous and skipper Monak Patel added 110 for the second wicket but three wickets from JJ Smit stalled the USA's progress mid-innings. Milind Kumar takes the attack to Namibia with 54 off 34 (6x4,2x6) and USA set Nambia a challenging total in the reduced overs game. The Namibian chase simply never got going against a disciplined USA attack. Big win for the USA which reinforces their position at the top of the table.
World Cup League 2
Oman beat Netherlands by 1 run
Al Amerat, Oman, 11 November 2024.
Oman 155 (44.2 overs: J Singh 59, A Odedra 41, J Odedra 20*; C Ackerman 4-22, R vd Merwe 3-30, R Klein 2-24)
Netherlands 154 (45.3 overs: T Nidamanuru 34; A Kaleem 4-24, S Ahmad 2-15, S Bukkapatnam 2-19)
Oman's openers Jatinder Singh and Ashish Odedra added 94 before a dramatic collapse against the spinners cost 9 wickets for just 31. Then a precious 30 added for the final wicket by Jay Odedra and Muzahir Raza. In the chase, the Oranje slumped to 70 for six against the Omani spinners before Tija Nidamanuru steadied the situation with 34. When he was dismissed with the score at 130 for nine, it looked to be all over, but the final partnership of Kyle Klein and Aryan Dutt took them within 2 runs of victory before Dutt was caught going for glory, failing to clear long-on.
World Cup League 2
Netherlands beat UAE by 67 runs
Al Amerat, Oman, 9 November 2024.
Netherlands 241/8 (50 overs: M O'Dowd 69, V Singh 66, N Croes 24, C Ackerman 21; J Siddique 3-31, A Naseer 2-19)
UAE 174 (45.2 overs: A Naseer 45, R Chopra 43, T Suri 26; R vd Merwe 3-14, A Dutt 3-26, R Klein 3-47)
Max O'Dowd and Vikram Singh's opening partnership was worth 140 (CricketEurope)
On opening partnership of 140 by Max O'Dowd and Vikram Singh enabled the Oranje to post a total that they would be confident of defending. Only a single wicket for the spinners today as seamers Junaid Siddique claimed three and Ali Naseer two. UAE not able to get any momentum in the chase, 85/5 at the halfway stage with Rahul Chopra trying to hold things together but even then it looked like a lost cause. Ali Naseer with some late defiance but a comfortable win for the Dutch who finish this round of fixtures against Oman on Monday.
Oman beat UAE by 4 wickets
Al Amerat, Oman, 7 November 2024.
UAE 78 (25.3 overs: A Naseer 21; S Ahmad 5-23, J Odedra 2-5)
Oman 79/6 (24.1 overs: A Kaleem 32, H Mirza 20; B Hameed 3-17, Aayan Khan 2-21)
Oman's bowlers won the day for the hosts (EmiratesCricket)
'Win the Toss, Win the match' seems to be the case in this series with the sides batting first struggling to post a defendable total on spinning pitches. No change today as Omani left arm spinner Shakeel Ahmad wreaked havok in the UAE top order with a five-for and off spinner Jay Odedra picking up a brace. The chase started badly for Oman who slumped to 12/3 off 8!! But Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza steadied the ship with a partnership worth 56. Basil Hameed took three quick wickets but with less than 10 required it proved to be too little, too late.
Oman beat Netherlands by 8 wickets
Al Amerat, Oman, 5 November 2024.
Netherlands 132 (40.2 overs: B de Leede 51, N Croes 29; S Ahmad 4-26, A Kaleem 2-27)
Oman 133/2 (34.1 overs: J Singh 58, J Odedara 27, W Ali 24*)
Bas De Leede scored a half century in a losing cause. (CricketEurope)
A real struggle for the Netherlands asked to bat first. They battled to 86/4 after 25 overs but after Bas de Leede’s departure the long tail produced little as the two left arm spinners Shakeel Ahmad and Aamir Kaleem claimed six wickets between them. Omani openers captain Jatinder Singh and Ashish Odedara coped with the three Dutch spinners with relative ease, took no chances and added 81 for the first wicket. Fifty and out for Singh but with less than twenty runs required the game was won by that stage.
Nepal v Scotland - no result
Dallas, 4 November 2024.
Nepal 26/1 (6 overs)
Scotland (Rain interrupted - reduced to 43 overs/side)
A gloomy scene in Dallas as rain held up play (CricketScotland)
A delayed start after Scotland elected to field and a further delay after just one over. Just about 2 hours lost before play resumes and we now have a 43 over game. But after another five overs covers on again it's 'bad light', 'lightning warning', 'rain' - take your pick, and the game is finally abandoned.
USA beat Nepal by 37 runs
Dallas, 2 November 2024.
USA 281/8 (50 overs: S Mukkamalla 75, M Patel 67, H Singh 59, A Jones 26; G Jha 3-87, S Lamichhane 2-48, S Kami 2-50)
Nepal 244 (49.5 overs: A Sah 52, S Kami 46, K Mala 33, DS Airee 31, K Bhurtel 29, Aarif Shiekh 21; S Netravalkar 4-47, N Kenjige 2-33, S van Schalkwyk 2-52)
USA posted an impressive total after being asked to bat by Nepal with runs all down the order. Harmeet Singh last out to the final ball of the innings after taking 16 off Gulsan Jha's over. Nepal were unable to make great headway in the chase, only 99/2 at the half way stage needing twice as many again in the second 25. An impossible task, although in the end a smaller margin of victory for USA than looked likely for most of the game as Nepal survived into the 50th over.
UAE beat the Netherlands by 26 runs
Al Amerat, Oman, 3 November 2024.
UAE 240/8 (50 overs: R Chopra 78, D Parashar 50*, T Suri 25; R van der Merwe 2-29, P van Meekeren 2-59)
Netherlands 214 (47.3 overs: B de Leede 66, S Edwards 51, T van der Gugten 22*; A Naseer 4-26, J Siddique 3-35)
UAE players celebrate their victory (Emirates Cricket)
Bottom of the table UAE had the Netherlands in difficulty after posting 240, skipper Rahul Chopra top scoring with 78. Ali Naseer with two wickets as Netherlands made slow progress, 66/3 after 20 overs. Skipper Scott Edwards and Bas de Leede added exactly 100 together for the fourth wicket but when both departed seamers Naseer and Siddique wrapped things up to give UAE only their second win in the league.
Oman beat UAE by 6 wickets
Al Amerat, Oman, 1 November 2024.
UAE 128 (41.3 overs: Muhammad Waseem 44, V Aravind 28; S Shrivastav 4-25, Shakeel Ahmed 2-22)
Oman 129-4 (43.4 overs: A Odedara 54, Hammad Mirza 28; D Parashar 2-16)
USA lost to Scotland by 71 runs
Dallas, 31 October 2024.
Scotland 317/5 (50 overs: B McMullen 151, C Tear 51, M Laesk 33*, R Berrington 26; S Netravalkar 2-69, J Singh 2-85)
USA 246 (44 overs: U Srivastava 67, M Patel 52, S Krishnamurthi 49, S Modani 25; J Jarvis 4-40, B Currie 2-45, M Watt 2-48)
Brandon McMullen dominated proceedings as the Scots piled up the runs against a lacklustre USA attack. McMullen added 104 with Charlie Tear and 80 with Richie Berrington in his innings containing 11x4s & 6x6s. A big chase but USA certainly gave it a go, first through skipper Monak Patel and then ODI debutant Utkarsh Srivastrava. In the end scoreboard pressure told as Scotland kept chipping away at the wickets to run out relatively comfortable winners.
Nepal beat Scotland by 5 wickets
Dallas, 29 October 2024.
Scotland 154 (41.4 overs: M Watt 34; S Lamichhane 3-45, Karan KC 2-26, S Kami 2-32, G Jha 2-33)
Nepal 157/5 (29.5 overs: Aarif Sheikh 51*, G Jha 25*, K Bhurtel 25, Aasif Sheikh 21; B McMullan 2-41)
Scotland slumped to 75/5 after being put in to bat and it took a few blows from Mark Watt who hit three sixes to get them to 150 and keep them in the game - just about. Tight start by Scotland's bowlers - not a straightforward chase for Nepal 70/4 at the first drinks break. Fifth wicket falls at 100, overs not an issue and a couple of little partnerships eases any pressure, Aarif Shiekh completing his half century with the winning boundary. Only Nepal's second win in the League and a third defeat for the Scots.
USA beat Nepal by 3 wickets
Dallas, 27 October 2024.
Nepal 286 (50 overs: R Paudel 96, A Sah 56, Aasif Sheikh 52, Aarif Sheik 37; N Kenjige 4-52, S Netravalkar 2-63)
USA 291/7 (49.4 overs: S Jahangir 104, M Patel 62, H Singh 57, S van Shalkwyk 29*; K Bhurtel 4-23, S Kami 2-37)
A six off the fourth ball of the final over saw USA claim a dramatic win, chasing down a Nepali total that featured an opening partnership of 98 between Anil Sah and Aasif Sheikh, plus 96 from skipper Rohit Paudel. In the chase, Shayan Jahangir and Monak Patel added 161 for the second wicket after the loss of Gous for just a single, with Jahangir going on to post a century. A middle-order wobble with wickets tumbling to Kushal Bhurtel left the visitors needing 17 off the final two overs, and the scene set for van Shalkwyk's knockout blow.
USA lost to Scotland by 10 wickets
Dallas, 25 October 2024.
USA 144 (38.4 overs: S van Shalkwyk 58, H Singh 22, N Kenjige 21; B Currie 4-32, B McMullan 3-20, B Wheal 2-15)
Scotland 145/0 (24.5 overs: A Umeed 98*, C Tear 43*)
Opting to bowl first Scotland's seamers had a field day as they blasted out half the home side for just 21. Some late order resistance from former Armagh professional Shadley van Shalkwyk held up the Scots doubling the score adding 71 for the ninth wicket with Nosthush Kenjige. If the Scottish bowling was impressive, the batting was even more so, total domination by Scottish openers Andy Umeed and Charlie Tear who raced to the win inside 25 overs. The defeat or rather 'player power' costs Stuart Law his job after 6 months - USA cricket never disappoints.
