>Alistair Bushe, whose father Eddie played seven times in 1979 and 190, while his brother Johnny made 29 appearances between 1998 and 2004, has chosen Ireland's 385th game, a home defeat against Worcestershire.

I'm going to go from left field and pick one of my first ever Ireland games, one of the two matches we played against Worcestershire in 1990 at Castle Avenue.

I remember it for several reasons.

Firstly, Worcester had a star-studded team including Ian Botham and Graeme Hick and my own club Waringstown had four players involved over the two days.

Ian Botham going out to bat at Clontarf

One of them, Alan Nelson, took three early wickets to put the county side in trouble and also had Hick, famously, caught behind very early on only to be turned down by an umpire who readily admitted he had come to watch him bat.

Hick of course went on to get a brilliant century and Ireland lost by 135 runs.

The two matches signify how far Ireland have come, those were still the days when we would win the toss and bowl even against county opponents almost no matter what because the crowds had come to see the opposition.

Thankfully those days are long gone.
