Ireland lose to Pakistan
Serious batting frailties cost Ireland the chance to record a morale boosting win against Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup qualifiers which get under way in Dublin next week.
Chasing 149 for victory, a quick-fire 33 in just 24 balls from Clare Shillington (6 fours) had seen Ireland well placed at 62 for 1 in the 8th over.
However Shillington's dismissal was the catalyst for a truly woeful batting display with only Eimear Richardson's run a ball 34 the only other contribution of note as Ireland slumped to 110 all out.
Extras with 15 was third top score, with the other nine batters managing just 27 runs between them.
There were four stumpings for Pakistan wicket-keeper Fatima, with Bismah Maroof (3-21), Sadia Yousuf (2-19) and Nida Dar (2-16) the pick of the touring bowlers.
A solid batting display from Pakistan - five of their top six reached double figures which allowed their team to score 148 for 7 in their 20 overs.
Louise McCarthy bowled an excellent spell, conceding just 9 runs, while Laura Delany picked up 3 for 15 despite being the 8th bowler called upon.
