This match was arranged because of the early conclusion of the previous game. In the Irish team GH McCormick took the place of JM Meldon who had been injured. This transpired to be McCormack's only game for Ireland. On the Philadelphians side WH Sayen and EM Cregar came in for Bohlen and Winter. King and Hordern played but did not bowl despite the provocation of a century by RH Lambert and a score of 262 for 6. The Philadelphians batted when the game began and they made 164 all out. This total was reached in 44 overs. White, 31, and Lester, 45, added 48 for the second wicket. Lambert got both of them and then wickets fell to him regularly until Hordern, 23, and Greene, 6 not out, added 24 for the 10th wicket. Lambert emerged with 7-45 in 15.3 overs.

A start was made next morning at 12:15 p.m. The weather was windy and unsettled and the attendance was small. GJ Meldon and Bourchier opened to Sayen and Greene. At 17 Lester bowled one over to allow a change of ends and had Meldon, 14, caught by Hordern at close short leg. McCormick scored six and was bowled by Sayen at 30. Lambert came in and, and after a narrow escape from being run out, began to hit about. 50 soon went up but at 58 Bourchier turned to play Greene to leg and gave Lester a soft catch. He had batted soundly for an hour and had scored 12. Lambert and Ross carried the score to 98 when Lester came on again and had Ross caught by Graves on a fine drive to the outfield. With Smith in 100 went up in 100 minutes.

Just before lunch Smith was caught off Newhall for 11. 113-5-11. Afterwards Lambert and Browning scored runs at a fast pace off bowlers who very seldom bowled. Lambert completed 50 and then went on to make 116 not out. Browning made exactly 50 and was then caught off Sayen. On his own dismissal Browning declared at 262-6. The stand had been worth 149 runs. Only 46 overs were bowled in the innings. In the time remaining the Philadelphians totalled 61-4, King getting 29 not out. Lambert took 3-29 and so had scored a not out century and taken 10 wickets in the match.
