They say lightning doesn't strike twice but it certainly did in Corfu back on 4 September 2012.

It’s a rare occurrence for a player to score an international T20 century, but in a remarkable feat, Tariq Ali Awan did it not once, but twice in the same day!

A century for Tariq Ali©CricketEurope

Playing for Spain he scored 150 not out against Estonia, taking just 66 balls and hitting 16 sixes.

Not content with that he repeated the feat in the afternoon as he smashed 148 from just 55 balls against Portugal, clearing the ropes 18 times in a savage display of brutal power.

Not surprisingly he was the tournament’s top scorer with 476 runs at 95.20, having also made two half centuries. His strike rate was an incredible 214.40, but it wasn’t enough to win the tournament, with Spain having to be content with third place.

It’s a record that will take some beating …
