It’s not often a bowler takes six wickets in an innings, especially in a T20 game. However, Denmark seamer Aftab Ahmed did just that during a World Cup Qualifier match against Papua New Guinea at the Sheikh Zayed stadium on 20 March 2012.

He struck early trapping Tony Ura lbw, but it was in his second spell that he wreaked havoc as PNG searched for quick runs.

He claimed the last five wickets to finish with 6 for 22, as PNG went from 136 for 5 to 148 all out – three of his victims falling in the last over of the innings in a final total of 148

However, while there would be personal glory as Aftab who collected both the match ball and the Man of the Match accolade, there would ultimately be disappointment as the run chase fell 14 runs adrift.

Still, these figures remain the best for Denmark in a T20 World Cup qualifying contest.
