This photograph of Anne Murray with an ice pack on her head was taken 35 years ago by Ger Siggins.

I wouldn't presume to be a photographer, especially in the company of Rowland, Joe, Ian, Barry, Deryck and Rodney who provide such stunning visuals for this website.

But this photo is my one contribution to the craft, taken for Irish Cricket Magazine back in 1985.

It was taken at a women's interpro in Sydney Parade. There was a lot going on, Anne Murray had been hit on the head, hence her homemade ice-pack, and her captain, Lilly Owens was watching play as her star bat recovered.

I moved in to take a shot of Annie, but I think Rita Kenny thought I was taking her picture. The president of the IWCU checked her hair and adopted this studied pose which helps make it a nice, fun shot.

I entered it for a photography competition at Sandymount Arts Week - and it won third prize!
