A poignant scene in Jamaica as Ireland and the West Indies observe a minute's silence for Bob Woolmer and Bob Kerr is the latest photo by Rowland White to feature in our ever popular series.

Back to Jamaica and a very poignant moment of silence as the Ireland and West Indies teams pay their respects to Bob Woolmer (Coach of Pakistan) and Bob Kerr, Cricket Ireland stalwart.

Woolmer died suddenly in Jamaica, just a few hours after the Pakistan team's unexpected elimination at the hands of Ireland.

Bob Kerr, Chairman of the Irish Cricket Union 2000-02 and president in 2004 was a retired headmaster and a founder member and long-serving player with North Fermanagh.

Bob was a much-loved member of the cricketing community and it was a shock to his many friends and admirers when he died in Jamaica in 2007 just as Ireland’s players qualified for the World Cup Super-Eights.

The trophy that is competed for in the Irish Senior Cup is remembered in his honour.
