It was something of a "Super Sunday" for the North West this weekend as Bready pulled off a stunning win in the O'Neills Ulster Cup final against Waringstown.
Bready made the short journey to Strabane Park to lock horns with last year's beaten finalists Waringstown and David Scanlon's men made light of their underdog tag to rout the NCU title favourites.
Gary Kidd gave the visitors the perfect start by removing the dangerous David Rankin early on but David Barr (41) and Andrew Austin (19) recovered the situation well.
Unfortunately for Bready, professional Ernest Kemm was the first of James McCollum's three victims and at 68-4 the visitors were in front.
The middle order has been a real problem for the Magheramason outfit in the past couple of seasons however it was to be their efforts that were to send their side towards respectability.
Brian Crumley led the way with 30 while the rest all chipped in as well to a final total of 185 for 9.
James Hall (3-25) and Jamie Mitchell (2-22) backed up McCollum's efforts with the ball.
Skipper Scanlon got Bready on the board early by removing Waringstown opener James Hall, and they kept their foot on the throat pretty much from that point on.
Ryan Barr (3-23), Craig Young (3-24) and professional Kemm (3-26) refused to let Waringstown get a sniff after that as Nelson's side had absolutely no answer to the onslaught.
The final margin was 94 runs as Bready celebrated as facile a first Ulster Cup win as they could ever have imagined.
