It's Back To The Future for Island Cricket this week-end. After a break of six years, the six-a-side tournament has been revived by popular demand.

The competition started in 1973 when the winners were Atholl. It continued until 2007, but has not been held since. The club to win the title most times is Finch Hill with seven victories, followed by Ramsey and St John's with five. The current holders are Castletown.

This year ten sides are entering the tournament which will be played on Sunday at King Wiilliam's College with a 12.30pm start.

Peel and St John's are entering two teams, as are Castletown and the Island Juniors. Other clubs competing are Cronkbourne, Valkyres, Crosby and Ramsey.

The sides are split into two leagues of five. Four matches will be played and the top two teams in each league meet in the semi-finals. These are due to go ahead at 6pm and the final is down for 6.45pm.

It's going to be a long haul, but six-a-side days are always great fun. To do well demands special tactics and plenty of skill. Everybody is welcome for what could be a memorable time.
