After four games took place on Wednesday, it was a quieter second day in La Manga for Division 3 of the European Championship with just two games, both in the afternoon.

Israel won the toss in their game against Finland and chose to bowl first. The Finns scored slowly in their innings thanks to some tight Israeli bowling, especially from Eliezer Samson, who went for just 12 runs from his four overs.

Having reached 65-4 from 12.3 overs, Finland proceeded to lose five wickets for just two runs in 10 balls. But a last wicket partnership between Amrik Bhatia and Saiful Islam gave the innings a little respectability.

The pair put on an unbroken 48 to take the Finnish total to 115-9 from their 20 overs. Josh Evans was the pick of the Israeli bowlers with 4-23.

The Israeli reply started in poor fashion as they found themselves 2-2 after the first over. Srinath Arachichige and Josh Evans got things back on track though, putting on 59 for the third wicket before Evans was out for 33.

Arachichige was the one who them guided Israel to the target with an unbeaten 46 as Israel completed a five wicket win with 11 balls to spare.

The other game of the afternoon was between Belgium and Greece, with the Belgians batting first after winning the toss. After being reduced to 35-4, Sheikh Muhammad and Abdul Rehman put on 66 for the fifth wicket, with Rehman contributing 60 of those runs, with just 39 runs.

After reaching 125-5, Belgium contrived to lose their last five wickets for just three runs as they were bowled out for 128. Spyridon Goustis bowled superbly for Greece, taking five wickets for only six runs.

Greece were unable to chase down their target of 126 thanks to some excellent bowling from the Belgian attack. Brighton Watambwa was the pick of the bunch, taking four wickets for nine runs from his four overs.

Greece were restricted to 101-7 from their 20 overs, losing by 27 runs. Whilst Belgium's win brought them level with Spain on points, the Spanish side are still ahead in race for promotion thanks to a superior net run rate.

Both of those teams will be in action tomorrow, with Belgium playing Finland and Spain taking on Israel. Both games will be in the afternoon.
