Scotland fielded the same side that had given India a scare on Monday and they had an immediate breakthrough when Gavin Main bowled Sami Aslam for three in the fourth over.
This was the only bright spot early in the innings as Imam-ul-Haq and Hasan Raza put on 161 for the second wicket as Pakistan took control of the match.
Raza was the second wicket to fall out for a well compiled 57 caught by Sole off the bowling of McLean.
Imam-ul-Haq continued to dominate the Scottish attack reaching his century before he became the third wicket to fall, caught by English off the bowling of Sole, He had made 133 at just under a run a ball, and the innings included thirteen fours and one maximum.
Shakeel (40) and Ghulam (34) enabled Pakistan to reach an impressive 308 for 7 in their fifty over allocation.
Chris Sole with three for 69 was the pick of the Scottish attack with Main (2) and McLean (1) the other bowlers to pick up wickets.
Scotland got off to a cautious start with McLean and Umeed finding runs hard to come by. In the seventh over with only 19 on the board, McLean was caught by Ghulam off the bowling of Zia-ul-Haq for 5.
His opening partner Umeed however stood firm and held the Scottish innings together as wickets fell at the other end.
When he fell for the sixth wicket he had taken the score to 136 and his contribution was 65 the highest score by a Scottish player in the tournament so far.
The only other batsmen to reach double figures were Stirling and Baum who both made 26 as Scotland were shot out for 162 in the fortieth over.
Karamat Ali was the destroyer in chief for Pakistan returning figures of 5 for 36 from 7.5 overs with two wickets for Butt and one a piece for Zia-ul-Haq, Gohar and Shakeel.
Scotland's next match will be on Sunday when they play UAE in Abu Dhabi in the ninth place play-off quarter final.
