These two teams met quite recently in a December tri-series that also involved Pakistan. The third match of that tournament between these two teams ended in a surprise three wicket win for the UAE. England took revenge for that defeat today by some margin.

Batting first after winning the toss, England's innings was built around a partnership of 151 for the fourth wicket between Ben Duckett and Ed Barnard. Duckett scored 83 before he was out in the 46th over, whilst Barnard lasted until the final over, scoring 93.

England lost three wickets in that final over whilst trying to score some quick runs, but the damage had been done and they had scored an imposing 315-8 from their 50 overs.

The UAE's reply started badly when Chirag Suri was the first batsman out in the third over, the first two overs having produced no runs. Shivank Vijayakumar and captain Rohit Singh were the only batsmen to reach double figures in their run chase.

England captain Will Rhodes took three wickets for just 14 runs as the UAE were bowled out for 102, a massive 213 run defeat. England's total of 315-8 was a record for England in Youth ODIs.

Both teams will be back in action again on Sunday with England taking on Sri Lanka and the UAE playing New Zealand.
