Nepal recorded a comprehensive 160-runs victory over Uganda at Bay Oval 2, Mount Maunganui, to finish ninth thanks to a strong bowling attack.
After posting 240, Sagar Pun (three for 18), Sompal Kami (two for10) and Shakti Gauchan (two for 16) ripped through the Uganda batting lineup to dismiss the side for 80 in 36.3 overs.
Nepal captain Paras Khadka said it was nice to end what has been a disappointing tournament with a win.
"Unfortunately things just did not come together for us in this tournament. We had a lot of injuries, and our plans didn't come off. We just didn't quite perform when it mattered."
"But we've got to look forward now to the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. We can learn from this tournament and try to rectify the mistakes."
Uganda captain Davis Karashani said his side needs to learn from the tournament. "Our lack of exposure to top cricket showed up in our performance. We need far more matches of this sort of quality. That is the only we can make the step up."
