Michael Rippon was in scintillating form as The Netherlands began their WCQ campaign with an emphatic seven wicket win against Uganda.

The Dutch left-arm spinner took four wickets as Uganda collapsed from 76 for 0 and 93 for 1 to end their innings on a disappointing 151 all out.

Speaking after the win the 22 year-old Man of the Match Rippon was delighted with his side's opening performance: "We didn't have the two best warm-up games but a lot of preparation has gone into this tour and luckily for us I think today it all just clicked.

"There was lots of buzz in the field and obviously we wanted to put up a good performance in the first game of the tournament."

"I thought it was a great team effort. All the bowlers bowled really well and obviously Wesley Barassi and Peter Borren finished the game off in style," he said.

Reflecting on his own performance Rippon remarked: "The conditions were perfect for me. The pitch was quite stoppy and took a bit of spin, I had a perfect breeze and the skipper brought me on at a perfect time to bowl."
