UAE off-spinner Nasir Aziz has been hit with a visa delay as he attempts to travel to Perth to undergo ICC analysis on his suspect action.

27 year-old Aziz applied for the visa on December 10th but is still in limbo with the process delayed because of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The WCQ get under way next week in New Zealand, and with the clock ticking down, it seems likely that the UAE's leading bowler will miss at least the Group stages of the competition.

Aziz's action will come under the close scrutiny of the ICC biomechanical analysis team after he was reported twice during the recent T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the Emirates.

He had been also previously reported back in 2011 but was cleared following an analysis by his home board, with Dayle Hadlee running a close eye over his action.

Speaking to The National newspaper, Aziz said: "It has been very frustrating for me. I wake up every morning expecting a call from the Australian embassy since I applied for my visa on December 10. Now the team is leaving without me.

"Only once I receive the visa will the ICC schedule a date for the test. I am still hopeful that I can make it to the qualifiers. But the wait for the visa is killing me.

On the fact that he has been cited on three occasions by officials now Aziz said: "It puzzles me. I have been playing for the UAE for the last four years and played in several ICC conducted competitions. They haven't specified any specific delivery, like the doosra, but have reported that I have an illegal bowling action.

"I want to get this cleared as quickly as possible so I can continue my cricket. I can only wait with hope at the moment."

The recent T20 qualifiers saw no fewer than three players being reported over concerns with their actions.

As well as Aziz, Namibian Louis van der Westhuizen and Hong Kong's Moner Ahmed were reported.

Indeed, following ICC analysis in December, Moner was found to have an illegal action which has resulted in him being banned from international cricket for 12 months.

Meanwhile fellow spinner Shadeep Silva has spoken of his World Cup dream.

The 35 year-old Sri Lankan played a major role along with Aziz in bowling their team to the T20 World Cup, and hopes to play a major role in New Zealand next week.

UAE coach Aqib Javed is hoping that his impressive seam battery will help his squad qualify despite conditions which will be alien to the UAE.
