Bermuda and Uganda met in the 13th place play-off of the World Twenty20 Qualifier for the second consecutive year in Dubai today. Whilst Bermuda were winners last year, this time the result was the other way around with Uganda coming out on top.

Batting first after winning the toss, Uganda's innings was led by Hamza Saleh, who scored 45 at exactly a run a ball as the Africans recorded 134-7 from their 20 overs, Kamau Leverock and Janeiro Tucker both taking two wickets for Bermuda.

In reply, Bermuda kept wickets in hand but were unable to score quickly enough. David Hemp top scored with 53 as they were restricted to 123-4 from their 20 overs, losing by 21 runs.

For Bermuda there will be the consolation that they have finished ahead of regional rivals USA, a reversal of their positions in the Americas qualifier. Uganda will be pleased to have finished in a better position than last year, but will be disappointed to have not made the play-offs.
