Nepal have beaten Bermuda to secure their place in the World Twenty20 Qualifier play-offs in a match that wasn't as close as the margin of 21 runs suggests.

Bermuda captain Janeiro Tucker won the toss and chose to put Nepal into bat. Nepal kept up a decent run rate throughout their innings, but at times seemed to be putting on an ideal demonstration of how to get out to shots not in the MCC coaching manual.

With wickets falling to reverse pulls, dilscoops, and reverse sweeps, Nepal's batting wasn't pretty, but it was effective as they ran up 148-8 from their 20 overs. Gyanendra Malla top scored with 39, with Subash Khakurel also chipping in with 35.

Bermuda's reply got off to a terrible start, and they soon found themselves on the back foot when their first four wickets fell for just 15. Despite Janeiro Tucker playing a good knock of 48 from 31 balls, Bermuda were never really in the hunt.

The next highest score in the Bermuda innings was 19 from Tre Manders as they were bowled out for 127, losing by 21 runs. Jitendra Mukhiya was the pick of the Nepali bowlers with 3-25.

Nepal finish their group stage matches in third place, but will need other results to go their way if they are to remain there. Bermuda still have an outside chance of making the play-offs, but will need a huge win over Papua New Guinea tomorrow if they're to do it.
