Rain threatened to wash out another game in the World Twenty20 qualifier, which would have disappointed the big crowd, estimated at 8000, that had gathered to watch Afghanistan play Nepal at Sharjah today.
Rain initially reduced the game to 10 overs, but after the toss took place a further shower reduced the game again, this time to seven overs. Put into bat, Nepal were able to score 73-3 from their seven overs, Gyanendra Malla top scoring with an unbeaten 23.
Afghanistan were untroubled in reply, with Mohammad Shahzad smashing 43 from just 22 balls, winning the game with a huge six over long on with four balls to spare. Afghanistan lost just one wicket during their reply.
Both teams have one game left, with Nepal taking on Bermuda tomorrow in a match they're likely to need to win to make the play-offs. Afghanistan are already sure of their place in the play-offs, and they will take on Kenya at Sharjah on Sunday.
