Hong Kong have got their World Twenty20 qualifying campaign back on track after beating Namibia today in Abu Dhabi.

Batting first after winning the toss, Namibia scored slowly but steadily throughout their innings, reaching 97-5 from their first 17 overs. Any hopes they had of scoring big in the last three overs were dashed by some fine Hong Kong bowling, which kept them to 111-9, Nadeem Ahmed, taking 3-18.

Hong Kong took until the 19th over to chase down their target, but they were never in any trouble, despite losing the big hitting Irfan Ahmed in the first over. Captain Jamie Atkinson scored 50, whilst Waqas Barkat guided them home with an unbeaten 34 to secure an eight wicket win.

Hong Kong will have a day off tomorrow before taking on the USA on Friday. Namibia have two days off and will play Canada on Saturday.
