Denmark's poor start to this tournament continued today when they crashed to another heavy defeat, this time against European rivals the Netherlands.

After winning the toss at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai, Denmark captain Michael Pedersen surprisingly chose to bat again. With Freddie Klokker dismissed for a duck in the second over, Denmark's innings got off to another poor start, and they found themselves well out of it at the halfway stage with the score on 30-5.

Kamran Mahmood and Taha Ahmed staged something of a recovery, putting on 44 for the sixth wicket, with Mahmood going on to score 41. But their start ensured they were unable to post anything approaching a competitive total as they were kept to 109-8, Ahsan Malik taking 4-10.

The Dutch chase was led by Stephan Myburgh, who hit an unbeaten 54 from 32 balls. The Dutch were never troubled as they raced to a seven wicket win inside 11 overs.

The Netherlands will be back in action tomorrow with what looks set to be a big game against Nepal. Denmark will have a day off tomorrow to prepare for the unenviable task of taking on Afghanistan on Thursday.
