Scotland got their World Twenty20 qualifying campaign back on track with a win over Nepal at the ICC Academy in Dubai today.

Batting first after Scotland won the toss, Nepal's batting order was unable to replicate what they did against Kenya the other day, as they struggled against the much more controlled Scottish bowling attack.

Binod Bhandari and Paras Khadka were the only two batsmen to pass 20, scoring 28 and 27 respectively in Nepal's total of 137-7. Safyaan Sharif was the pick of the bowlers with 3-19, with Gordon Goudie also taking three wickets.

Nepal did manage to take Scotland into the last over of their run chase, but truth be told, Scotland were never in danger of losing. Calum Macleod batted well to score 82 not out from 64 balls as the Scots secured an 8 wicket win.

Both teams will be in action again tomorrow, with both facing must win matches. Scotland will take on Kenya, with both teams needing to win if they are to have a good chance of reaching the play-offs. Nepal will take on Papua New Guinea. With much tougher opponents ahead, a win would go a long way to securing their place in the play-offs.
