Denmark's poor run of performances continued today as Kenya cruised to a simple win over them at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai.
Batting first after winning the toss, Denmark were struggling against some quality pace bowling by Ragheb Aga and Nelson Odhiambo, and soon found themselves on the back foot when they lost three wickets in six balls with the score on 12.
They never really recovered from there and only managed to post 84-8 from their 20 overs, captain Michael Pedersen top scoring with 21. Odhiambo was the pick of the bowlers with 3-15.
In reply, Steve Tikolo turned back the clock with a fine unbeaten innings of 48, sharing in a 71 opening partnership with Alex Obanda. It was Tikolo who hit the winning runs as Kenya recorded an eight wicket win to get their campaign off the mark.
Denmark, still without a win, will play the Netherlands tomorrow, whilst Kenya will take on Scotland.
