A five wicket win with almost seven overs to spare may at first seem like a convincing win. But Nepal were far from convincing in their win against Denmark, and other teams will not let them recover from a poor start like Denmark did today in Dubai.

Denmark batted first after winning the toss, and when Freddie Klokker was out lbw in the second over, any chance Denmark had of recording a decent total was unfortunately gone. Hamid Shah made their highest score with 18, and only two other batsman made double figures.

The Danes lost wickets regularly throughout their innings and were bowled out for 79, two balls short of their full quota of 20 overs. Sagar Pun was the pick of the Nepali bowlers with 3-12.

Nepal's reply started terribly when Pradeep Airee and Gyanendra Malla were both dismissed without a run on the board. But, as is so often the case, Paras Khadka helped recover the innings with a knock of 48 from 34 balls.

He shared in a 67 run partnership for the third wicket, but his dismissal was the first of three wickets for just one run inside six balls, giving Nepal the briefest of scares.

Nepal didn't lose another wicket though, and still managed to win the game, but take Para Khadka out of the equation and that batting line-up is looking quite ropey. Stronger teams than Denmark will not allow them to recover from that sort of start, and Nepal have some work to do on their batting if they're to qualify for Bangladesh.
