Jonty Jenner has put in a fantastic performance for Jersey as they picked up an upset win over the hosts at Voorburg Cricket Club today.

Batting first after Dutch captain Joost Kroesen won the toss, Jersey soon found themselves in trouble at 29-3. But that wicket brought Jenner to the crease, and he was in the mood to score runs. Punishing anything short, he scored several runs in the area between mid-on and midwicket, initially sharing in a 65 run partnership for the fourth wicket with opener John Donaldson.

Donaldson was out having scored 40, but Jenner continued to score runs, not giving away a chance until he was caught having scored 101 from just 81 balls, to take his tournament total to 238 runs at an average of 79.33 and lead his team to a total of 239 from 48.4 overs.

The Dutch struggled in reply against the Jersey bowlers, with Duckett and Palmer being particularly effective with three wickets each. Jersey didn't help themselves by giving away 34 runs in extras, but that was the top score in the innings as the Dutch batsmen capitualted and were dismissed for 144, losing by 95 runs.

Jersey will now take on Ireland in a crucial game tomorrow, whilst the Netherlands will hope to bounce back after today's surprise defeat when they play Denmark.
