Robert McKinley's five star show saw Ireland record an emphatic seven wicket win against their Guernsey counterparts.

Ballymena seamer McKinley had the amazing analysis of 5 for 5 as Guernsey were skittled for just 107 having been at one stage 40 without loss.

Lucas Barker (28), Toby Belton (18), and Isaac Damarrel (26) had given the Islanders a solid start, before the wheels fell off their innings in spectacular style.

The left-arm spin combination of Ben Wylie (3-29) and Scott Campbell (2-29) had made the initial breakthroughs before the impressive McKinley took centre stage, proving virtually unplayable as he ripped through the Guernsey middle and late order.

A total of 107 was never likely to cause the Irish batting much trouble and so it proved.

Scott Campbell hit an unbeaten 56 from 78 balls (5 fours, 1 six) sharing an opening partnership of 59 with James McCollum (16).

Peter Eakin smashed 17 from just six balls (2 fours, 1 six) as the Irish attempted to increase their net run rate, fully conscious of the fact that Scotland's demolition of Denmark earlier in the day had meant it could well be crucial in the final analysis.

Luke Le Tissier (3-26) claimed all three Irish wickets to fall, including Cormac McLoughlin (0).

Skipper Tyrone Kane (15*) ensured there were no further alarms as the seven wickets victory was achieved with 24.5 overs to spare.

Ireland play high flying Jersey tomorrow in a game both must win to keep their Under 19 World Cup qualification hopes alive.
