Nick Farrar has put in a tournament record bowling performance to lead Scotland to a crushing win over Denmark.
Denmark won the toss and chose to bat first, and started slowly but steadily, with Anders Bulow leading the way with 20 as they reached 32-1 in the 17th over. But his wicked sparked a remarkable collapse, with Nick Farrar proving to be the scourge of the Danish batsmen.
When the dust settled, Denmark had been bowled out for just 46. Their batsmen struggled on a slow pitch where the ball kept low, but they didn't help themselves by frequently playing across the line to straight deliveries, with every wicket falling in this manner. Nick Farrar finished with sensational bowling figures of 7-13, the best bowling figures in the history of ICC Europe Under-19 Division One.
No surprises that Scotland had no trouble chasing down that target, with Andrew Umeed and Alex Baum securing the 10 wicket win in 8.2 overs, Umeed finishing the match off with a huge straight six more than an hour before the scheduled luunch break.
Scotland will now hope to put in a similarly commanding performance when they take on Guernsey tomorrow, whilst Denmark will look to bounce back from today's disappointing performance when they play the Netherlands.
