Vanuatu survived against Bahrain while Argentina secured a nervy win against Kuwait in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 6 matches on Wednesday (July 24).
Against Bahrain, Vanuatu was put in to bat and notched up 244 in 49.4 overs. That was largely thanks to Andrew Mansale, the captain, who scored a 119-ball 111. Bahrain's most successful bowler was Mirza Baig, who returned figures of 4 for 52. In its reply, Bahrain was bowled out for 209, with both Aby John and Nalin Nipiko claiming three wickets each for Vanatu.
The game between Argentina and Kuwait went down to the wire. Batting first, Kuwait rode on Saud Qamar's 99-ball 83 to notch up 205 in 44.2 overs. Argentina's most successful bowler was Lucas Paterlini, who returned figures of 4 for 45. In their chase, Argentina was carried by Martin Siri's 76-ball 59, but then lost a flurry of wickets to go nine down. However, August Casime helped them cross the target with just three balls remaining.
