World Cricket League Division 3 continued yesterday with the USA and Uganda both winning for a second time, whilst Bermuda recorded their first win of the tournament.

The USA batted first after winning the toss against Italy and soon found themselves in trouble at 10-2 with both openers back in the dressing room, inccluding Steven Taylor, who batted so well on the opening day. But the team recovered well, with Steve Massiah and Sushil Nadkarni putting on 78 for the third wicket, a partnership that ended when Massiah was dismissed for 51.

Nadkarni then put on 90 for the fourth wicket with Rashard Marshall before he was dismisssed for 71. Timroy Allen then played a second consecutive big hitting innings by smashing 51 from 26 balls to take the USA to 254-8 from their 50 overs.

In reply Italy were unable to keep pace with the USA, and lost wickets regularly throughout their innings. Andy Northcote and Carl Sandri both scored 41 in their reply of 180 as they lost by 74 runs. Former West Indies player Neil McGarrell was the pick of the bowlers with 4-44, three of the wickets being stumpings by Steve Taylor.

At Somerset Cricket Club, Nepal again looked out of sorts with their batting as they were bowled out for 116 by Uganda, Davis Arinaitwe and Frank Nsubuga both taking three wickets. Uganda had little trouble chasing down the target in 27 overs to win by six wickets. Roger Mukasa top scored with an unbeatn 49.

At St David's Cricket Club, hosts Bermuda took on Oman. Batting first they scored 194 in 44.1 overs before being bowled out. In reply, Oman were bowled out for 160 to lose by 34 runs, a margin that could have been a lot worse if not for a battling unbeaten 58 from number 8 batsman Amir Ali.

Today is a rest day in Bermuda, and the tournament will resume on Wednesday. USA and Uganda will look to continue their unbeaten runs against Oman and Italy respectively, whilst Nepal will look to put to rest their disappointing start to the tournament when they play hosts Bermuda.
