Belgium and the three EAP sides have all won on the second day's play at Division Eight of the World Cricket League in Samoa today.

Belgium chose to bat first in their match against Suriname, and lost their first two wickets for 25 inside 11 overs. But they recovered well, starting with Sheikh Muhammad scoring 41, and a 101 fifth wicket partnership in just eight overs between Jamie Farmiloe and Abdul Rehman.

Rehman smashed 81 from just 34 balls before he was out, whilst Farmiloe stayed in a little longer to make 73 from 70 balls. The lower order took the Belgian total to 283-7 from 42 overs.

Suriname struggled in reply, chasing a Duckworth Lewis adjusted target of 286 in 42 overs. Mohindra Boodram was the only batsman to make any impact with 47, and his team were bowled out for 115, losing by 170 runs.

Japan also recorded a second win of the tournament, thus confirming that Japan and Belgium will reach the semi-finals. Batting first against Bhutan, Japan scored 203-8 from 42 overs, Alexander Patmore top scoring with 91. They then bowled Bhutan out for 144, chasing a target of 205, with only captain Jigme Singye batting well with a score of 51.

Vanuatu also won for a second time in the tournament, with Ghana batting first in the match after winning the toss. The Africans scored 197 before they were bowled out, Obed Harvey top scoring with an unbeaten 51. Patrick Matautaava followed his 6-10 against Norway with 3-23.

Vanuatu, chasing 198 in 45 overs, chased down their target with 17 balls to spare to win by five wickets. Nalin Nipiko top scored with an unbeaten 58.

Hosts Samoa made it a hat-trick for the EAP sides with a five wicket win over Norway. Zeeshan Siddiqui top scored for Norway with 57 in their total of 188, whilst Benjamin Mailata took 4-15. Skipper Mailata then led the way with the bat in Samoa's chase of 186, scoring an unbeaten 79 from 76 balls and ending the chase in fine style with a six.

Group B's matches tomorrow are to some extent dead rubber matches, with Belgium and Japan already confirmed as the semi-finalists. But they will play each other and Bhutan will play Suriname. In Group A, it is still all to play for, with Ghana taking on Norway and Samoa playing Vanuatu.
