Jersey have won the clash between the two Channel Island rivals, but they allowed Guernsey to get a lot closer to victory than they had any right to.

Guernsey batted first after being put in by Jersey, and the opening pair put on 37 before Edward Lawrence was dismissed in the tenth over. Opening partner Will Fazakerly set about providing the backbone to the innings with a cautious 39 but his dismissal in the 31st over sparked a batting collapse.

Guernsey collapsed from 135-4 from to 155 all out as David Martin and Solomon Warner took three wickets each.

With Guernsey out well before the end of their 50 overs, Jersey faced a short session before lunch, which they survived, the first wicket, that of Jonty Jenner for 37, falling after the lunch interval with the score on 81.

Opening partner Feeney stayed in to make 55, but his dismissal saw Jersey almost do their best to throw away a winning position. They collapsed from 135-4 to 154-9 before Thomas Ward hit the winning runs to secure a narrow one wicket win.

Jersey's tournament is now over and they will no doubt be disappointed with their performance despite the win today. Guernsey still have the chance to salvage something when they play the Netherlands tomorrow at KGV.
