Ireland started their campaign for a first Under-15 title since 2007 with a big win over hosts Guernsey at the KGV ground today.

Batting first, Ireland scored 277-6 before rain brought an end to their innings, with the end being played in heavy rain. Jack Tector top scored with 80, whilst William McClintock scored an aggressive 50 from just 32 balls.

With rain eventually reducing Guernsey's target to 209 from 27 overs, the hosts were never in with a chance. Thomas Viellard batted well to score 36 before he was out in the last over, but Guernsey could only manage 101 before the last wicket fell from the last ball innings, the fourth wicket for Lorcan Tucker.

Ireland have shown that they intend to win this tournament with their performance today and will hope to continue in similar fashion when they play Jersey tomorrow.
