IRELAND's fifth last-over finish of the Under-19 World Cup produced their second defeat at Bready as Nepal battled to victory 10 runs.
In a match reduced to 46 overs per side by rain, Ireland chose to bowl and kept their opponents on a tight leash with skipper George Dockrell taking 3-15 from his 10 overs.
But a breezy 38 not out off 19 balls from Rahul Vishwakarma helped Nepal pile on 42 from their final three overs and post a defendable total of 187-7.
The Duckworth-Lewis calculation reduced Ireland's target by two but the home side again got off to a poor start, losing their first four wickets for 53.
Dockrell then looked to be leading Ireland to victory in a 108-run fifth-wicket partnership with Adam Coughlan before a disastrous run-out in the first over of the batting power play.
Coughlan, who had played intelligently for 48, completely lost his head in attempting a second run after Dockrell had survived a close run out call himself.
The Ireland skipper did not move from his position five yards behind the stumps as Coghlan charged three-quarters of a pitch length towards him before vainly trying to regain his ground.
It was the moment that turned the tide and Dockrell was out soon after, caught behind for 55.
Ireland required 14 to win from the final over and like the previous three overs of their power play were unable to find the boundary.
Dockrell was awarded the man-of-the-match award which was more than a little tough on Vishwakarma who added four wickets to his late innings runs.
