Gibraltar beat Germany by 23 runs at Victoria College to take 9th place in the European Division 1 T20.

Winning the toss and batting first, wicket-keeper Kieron Ferrary (33 off 26 balls) and Ross Harkins (33 off 19 balls) helped Gibraltar to a score of 157-7 in their 20 overs.

Ferrary hit four 4s and a six whilst Harkins hit three 4s and cleared the ropes twice. Captain Iain Latin was also in the runs making a run-a-ball 26.

Mian Ehsan Latif returned the best figures of the German bowlers, taking 2-19 in 3 overs.

In reply Germany got off to a bad start, losing opener Dilshan Rajudeen for 4 in the first over, bowled by Mark Bacarese. There was a slight recovery to 50-2 but then Germany suffered a middle-order collapse, losing Imran Chaudhry (19), Mudassar Razzaq (0) and Ayoma Abeywickrama (22) with only 3 more being added to the total.

Despite the setback Germany battled on and Kashif Haider's 23 in 20 balls kept them in the hunt. But they were eventually all out for 134 in the 18th over, leg-spinner Latin picking up 3-34 and Matthew Hunter taking 2-22.
