Shane Getkate, the Ireland Under 19 and Development XI player, was taken ill and collapsed during a game for Warwickshire CCC U19's yesterday. He was taken to Solihull Hospital. Shane's condition has improved over the past 12 hours and he is now in a stable condition.

Mark Garaway, Performance Director for Cricket Ireland commented 'We have remained in close and regular contact with Shane's parents, Warwickshire County Cricket Club's management team led by Ashley Giles and Solihull Hospital since Shane was first taken ill. The recent update from Shane's father is encouraging. The thoughts and prayers of all involved in Irish Cricket are with Shane and his parents'.
