MAN-of-the-match Matty Parker revealed being the straight man helped bring smiles to Scottish faces.

Forfarshire allrounder Parker produced his best ODI bowling with 4-33 in Rotterdam.

Parker said: “There was no real secret to it. I just tried to bowl straight and got my reward with three lbws and one clean bowled.

“I had been spraying it about in recent games so it was nice to put things right. “Getting the man-of-the-match award is a nice bonus but the result is the most important thing because we are now just one win away from the final.”

Despite the victory coach Pete Steindl is demanding improvement for tomorrow's showdown with Afghanistan. He said: “We did it the hard way because there is no way it should have been as close as it was. We took our foot off the gas and let them back into it. There are areas we need to improve on.”
