HISTORIC FIRST FOR LISBURN
Lisburn Women have unveiled New Zealander Talia Hurley as their overseas professional for the 2026 season. It's another progressive step for the Wallace Park club as they look to strengthen all aspects of their set-up.

Hurley, an Irish passport holder, is an all-rounder from the Central Districts club, and her capture will help Lisburn challenge double champions Waringstown, who have emerged as the dominant force in the NCU.
"This is an historic moment for Lisburn Cricket Club by getting our first female overseas player," said Jonny Waite, Director of Women's and Youth Cricket. "We are delighted to get this signing over the line and really excited to welcome Taila to the club in April.
"This will provide a great experience for our younger players to learn off while we play our games, as well as significant developmental impact into our schools and club programmes, with over 120 Under-18 female players registered at the club already who can benefit from Taila’s expertise."
Those views were echoed by Lisburn Women's First XI captain Sarah McCallan.
"Taila’s experience in New Zealand will add real quality on the pitch, and having competed in a range of conditions against strong opposition, she will play a key role in driving standards within the squad. This will be a valuable opportunity for our players to learn and develop.
"It’s also a huge step forward to see NCU Women’s teams now benefiting from professional players on a par with the Men’s game. We look forward to welcoming Taila to the team and club."
Lisburn compete in the NCU Women's Premiership, and their girls youth sides have won All-Ireland Cups in recent years, testament to the pool of talent at the club, which augurs well for future success.
