There was sad news earlier this week with the death of Drummond Chairman Ian Heaslett.
The club paid tribute to Ian on their Facebook page for playing such a pivotal role there since the early 1980's.

"The members and community of Drummond Cricket Club mourn the passing of a true legend, Ian Heaslett, who passed away peacefully today, 6th November.
"For over four decades, Ian served as the unwavering backbone of the club, dedicating his life to its success and growth. His service began more than 40 years ago when he stepped into the joint roles of Secretary and Treasurer, positions he held with meticulous care and unmatched commitment. His organisational skill and financial stewardship ensured the club's stability through the years.
"In recent times, Ian continued his extraordinary leadership, proudly serving as the club's Chairman for the past four years. Drummond Cricket Club was, quite simply, his passion. He was constantly working hard, pouring his energy into countless projects to improve the facilities and foster the club's spirit. His love for Drummond was evident in every tireless hour he gave.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to his beloved wife, Anne, who was always by his side, sharing in his dedication and supporting his monumental efforts for the club.
"Ian Heaslett’s legacy is etched into the very foundations of Drummond Cricket Club. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him."
North West President Connie McAllister added his own tribute saying:
"When you think of Drummond, you think of Ian.
"His passion for cricket and the club were always evident and trips to Drummond were always enjoyable affairs.
"Ian will be sadly missed by Drummond and the North West in general. Condolences to his wife Anne and the wider family circle."
