UAE remain without a win in this cycle of CWC League 2 after a thumping win for the Americans today at the United Cricket Club in Windhoek, Namibia.
USA captain Monank Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first this morning. UAE captain Muhammad Wasseem and Alishan Sharafu both fell in quick succession in the third over, with Vishnu Sukumaran also dismissed cheaply not long afterwards, leaving the UAE on 27-3.
Action from today's match (Emirates Cricket Board)
Opener Aryansh Sharma was next out for 31 with 40 on the board, and the wickets kept on coming. Knocks of 32 by Rahul Chopra and Ali Naseer helped the UAE just ease past three figures before they were bowled out for 106. New Yorker Jasdeep Singh was the pick of the American bowlers, taking 4-18.
USA had no trouble knocking off their target without loss in just 15.5 overs. Smit Patel scored 38 of those runs with 66 of them coming from ODI debutant Andries Gous, who now has a half-century on debut in both ODIs and T20Is.
USA are next in action on Sunday when they take on hosts Namibia, whilst UAE play next on Friday, also against the hosts.
