Merrion remain well placed for the Premiership crown after an impressive chase saw them pass their 251 run target with six wickets in hand. Batting first, Clontarf made 250 for 4 with David Vincent top-scoring with 91 (11 fours) sharing a second wicket stand of 147 with David Delany (70). John McNally added late runs too with a 34-ball 47. Merrion though displayed their batting power with runs from all the top-order. Swapnil Modgill hit 9 fours and one maximum in a 56-ball 69, while John Anderson made an undefeated 62 (6 fours). There were also runs from Peter Francis (41), Adam Rosslee (32) and Sam Harbinson (28).

There were four wickets for Gavin Hoey and three for the impressive Byron McDonough. The chase was a routine one spearheaded by Tim Tector's unbeaten 51-ball 57 (7 fours), with runs too for JJ Garth (23).
