Donemana consolidated their lead at the top of the NW Premiership yesterday with a five wickets victory over Eglinton.
Set 241 for victory, William McClintock’s hard-hitting 85 (11 fours and four sixes) launched their chase in style and Ireland international Andy McBrine hit the winning runs with two overs to spare.
Donemana have a 25 points lead over Eglinton with just games remaining although Newbuildings kept their title hopes alive – they are a further 15 points back in third with a game in hand – with a three wickets win over Bready.
David Rankin was out the ball after reaching his century in Bready’s 245 for five but although Newbuildings still needed 81 from the last 10 overs, they eased home with eight balls to spare thanks to Ryan Hunter’s 79 from 69 balls.
