MINE’S A TREBLE SAYS MCLAUGHLIN

Fox Lodge Women continued their dream season as they made it three trophies when they claimed the Premiership crown beating Newbuildings by 10 wickets on Monday night to pip fellow Tyrone side Bready to the title.

“The ladies and I are delighted to win the senior league,” said skipper Hannah McLaughlin. “We had plenty of confidence that we would get the win to secure the league. Lucy Neely excelled again with bat and ball taking two wickets and reaching the total required with Sarah in just the fourth over.

“Tanisha Hussain was impressive with her three wickets and Lucy Blair also did well with two. There were further wickets for Kara, Mollie and Elle.

“I think it’s been 11 years since we won the league so it is a great achievement for us and especially for the young girls coming through who have excelled this year and matured in their game.

“This is our third bit of silverware this season which demonstrates the hard work and commitment that’s been put into the team by the girls themselves.”

The Ballymagorry side will now have the chance to make it four trophies as they represent the North West in the All-Ireland Women’s T20 competition. First up they face NCU Champions Waringstown on Sunday with the winners facing Leinster champions Phoenix in a live-streamed game at Phoenix Park on the 25th ahead of the men’s final.
