Centuries from the prolific pairing of Robert O'Brien and Dan Murray ensured Ireland U17s got their series against Jersey off to a winning start at Oak Hill.
Freddie Ogilby went early, but O'Brien got the innings back on track sharing stands of 54 for the second wicket with Brian Dunphy (22) and 71 for the third with Adam Leckey - who cleared the ropes twice in his 29.
The match defining stand of 169 though came with the arrival to the middle of Pembroke's Dan Murray who together with Railway Union's O'Brien set about dismantling the Channel Islanders attack.
O'Brien top scored with 120 from 131 balls, hitting 14 fours, the same number as Murray, who also cleared the ropes three times at the picturesque Wicklow venue on his way to an 89-ball 118.
James West (28*) added late runs as the Irish made an imposing 364 for 5.
The Jersey reply though started positively as Jack Kemp hit a 52-ball 63 (8 fours, 1 six) putting on 88 for the second wicket with Beau Gurner (36).
Once the stand was ended, the innings collapsed from 103 for 1 to 146 all out - two wickets apiece for Sam Haslett, James West, Febin Manoj and Adam Leckey.
The series concludes on Wednesday with another 50-over game after Monday's T20 was abandoned without a ball bowled.
