Netherlands have started their home women's ODI tri-series against Papua New Guinea and Scotland with a win after beating the Pacific island side in yesterday's first match.

Put into bat, no Papua New Guinea batter was able to make a significant contribution, though a couple did make starts. Henao Thomas was their top scorer with 30 as they were bowled out for 148. Iris Zwilling and Hannah Landheer both took three wickets, conceding 29 and 26 runs respectively.

The Netherlands had a poor start to their innings with the top three all dismissed cheaply. Robine Rijke provided some much needed backbone to their innings though with a knock of 60 that went a long way to securing a three wicket win for the home side.

PNG are back in action today at the same venue with a game against Scotland before the tri-series moves to VRA in Amstelveen for the final four matches, starting with Netherlands v Scotland on Thursday.
