Centurion Julie McNally (Cricket Leinster Youth)

Julie McNally scored a brilliant hundred to lead Leinster Firsts to a narrow 2-run win over the NCU in a thrilling match at Kenure. The Clontarf batter hit 22 boundaries in her 89-ball 121, sharing a second wicket stand of 102 with Izzy McLean (33). Lucy Barry also chipped in with 23 in a total of 247. Eva Wilson picked up three wickets, while there two each for Jocelyn Wright and Grace Wilson. The chase was a tense one that went right down to the last ball with the NCU just failing to get the boundary that would have tied the match. Rebecca Lowe top-scored with 78 (8 fours, 3 sixes) sharing stands of 74 with Eve Mitchell and 77 with Erin Bond (41). So close but yet so far in a game that ebbed and flowed throughout.

Leinster 2 beat North West by 18 runs
Leinster 2 113 (29.1 overs; Genevieve Morrissey 23; Jessica Cooke 3-13, Hannah Skinner 2-1, Tiara Mitchell 2-19)
North West 95 (24.4 overs; Millie Spence 33; Molly Butterly 4-20, Erin Knight 2-4, Hayley Moore 2-27)

Hat-trick hero Molly Butterly (Cricket Leinster Youth)

Molly Butterly inspired a fightback by Leinster 2's as they beat the North West by 18 runs in the U17 interprovincial match at Balbriggan. The Hills' teenager claimed a hat-trick in her figures of 4 for 20 as the visitors collapsed from 89 for 4 chasing 113 to be all out for 95. The Bready duo of Millie Spence - who hit seven boundaries in her top score of 33 - and Sophie Hamilton (14) looked to be steering their side home with a second wicket stand of 42 before the collapse. There were two wickets apiece also for Erin Knight and Hayley Moore. Leinster's total of 113 saw Genevieve Morrissey top score with 23, but the NW will reflect on the concession of 40 extras, which was the decisive factor in a low scoring game. Jessica Cooke had three scalps, while there were two each for Tiara Mitchell and Hannah Skinner.
