Ryan Hunter's brilliant 115 not out helped set up a home final for Newbuildings after their comprehensive 98-run win over Bonds Glen. The former Ireland U19 international hit 11 fours and 8 sixes in his 57-ball innings, adding 194 for the second wicket with Samarth Seth. The Indian overseas player thumped 7 sixes and fours in his 55-ball 88 as the hosts piled up 226 for 2. Not surprisingly when faced with a such a daunting total, the Bee Gees came up well short. David Cooke hit an unbeaten 35, while Pushpender Singh made 28 against his former team mates. Just to complete fine all-round games both Hunter and Seth picked up two wickets apiece.
Killyclooney lost to Eglinton by 13 runs (DLS)
Killyclooney 152/7 (20 overs; Kenzie Hall 62, Andrew Neil 23, Giles Moan 20; Jamie Millar 3-23, Mark Averill 2-48)
Eglinton 47/1 (5.1 overs; Liam Doherty 29) (34 in 5.1 overs)
Eglinton came out the right side of the DLS calculations after rain ended their last four clash at Killyclooney. Chasing 153, Liam Doherty's quickfire 29 (2 fours, 3 sixes) had his team 13 ahead on 47 for 1, just one ball after the cut-off point for a result. A few minutes earlier and it would have been the dreaded bowl-out. The home sides Kenzie Hall has impressed this season and he was to the fore once again hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes in his 44-ball 62, with runs too for Andrew Neill (23) and Giles Moan (20). Jamie Millar (3-23) and Mark Averill (2-48) were in the wickets for the villagers. The final will be played at the Foyleview Arena on Thursday July 18th.
