After an opening game defeat by Namibia, Nepal bounced back in fine fashion against a Dutch side that won two games at last year's Men's ODI World Cup with a convincing nine wicket win.
Nepal captain Rohit Paudel won the toss and put the visitors into bat, with Sompal Kami making an almost immediate impact, dismissing debutant Michael Levitt for a third ball duck. Things didn't get much better for the Dutch from there with a 38 run third wicket partnership between Sybrand Engelbrecht and Bas de Leede their only partnership of note.
The pair scored 23 and 27 respectively before both were dismissed by Lajit Rajbanshi. Scott Edwards made a valiant 33 before he was the third victim of Kushal Bhurtel, who finished with 4-20 as the Dutch were bowled out for 137.
Nepal then chased down their target in just 15.2 overs to win by nine wickets. Aasif Sheikh and Anil Sah put on an unbroken 105 for the second wicket, scoring 54 and 57 respectively.
The next match in this leg of CWC League 2 is on Monday when the Netherlands take on Namibia. Nepal next play on Wednesday against Namibia.
